One of the most common questions I get asked is "How often should I get my hair cut/trimmed?" and to be honest with you, that question is going to vary from person to person, based on several differing factors. a huge factor is hair texture. (See the following videos for more information regarding hair texture:
keep in mind I have hundreds of hair care videos and hair tutorials on this channel for your convenience!)
Another major factor is proper care of your hair. In this video, I discuss the various factors that tie into the cause of split ends, and we discuss how to do more to prevent split ends so you can stretch the time in-between your trims and maintain length AND healthy hair!

I hope this video proves helpful for you, if you benefited from the information in this video, please let me know by clicking the like button or leaving a comment!
Until next time, take care, God bless, and stay Glam, you know I love you boo!

This makes so sense! I was getting my hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks and could never understand why my hair didn’t “grow”. With course hair, I’m going to aim for 3 months from now on. Thank you so much for your informative videos! Be blessed!

I have thin hair and whenever I go for a trim. The stylist hears cut. So now, I watch you and I trim my own hair. With shears. Because Linwood said so. I have learned so much from you. Bless you. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge.

I always wondered about this.. because I used to get them trimmed every couple of months and I would have minimal split hairs. Now, I wait about 3-4 months for a trim, especially now that I'm completely natural. Thank you for your thorough explanations. ❤⚜️💯

I know your still hurting, I can see the sadness in your eyes, but I'm glad to see that you're taking baby steps to find yourself again. When I was 21 my wife, who was 8 months pregnant with our twins died in a car accident. It took me 11 long years to get my groove back, but I did and so will you. Just keep taking those baby steps. Remember who you are!

Thanks for the amazing video! Those of us who haven't seen what our natural hair should look like in decades are more likely to mistake dry natural hair and damaged/split ends when they finally go natural... I hope you're doing better than before in terms of health and personal life... ❤️ from Martinique, French Caribbean...

Yes! I completely agree that trimming hair every 4-6 weeks is far too often! I currently get my hair trimmed every 3-4 months and that's been working for me so far! I love that you mentioned fine hair - it's so important to adjust our regimen's to account for our unique hair types. Thanks for posting this video - it is EXCELLENT! 💛

I am so glad you said this. I am militant with my DC, sleeping situation and maintaining my moisture/protein on my relaxed hair. I seldom and like I mean over the last 2 years when I started this slightly obsessed behavior, thanks Ronna, have gotten a split end. I do trim when I relax every 4 to 6 months but breakage is minimal knock ALL the wood. I examine the ends and will lightly dust with a pair of hair shears if they are not perfectly straight!

SOOOO glad you're back!! Okay, so, very specifically: for natural hair that is high porosity, is a combination of 3c/4a/4b, (unsure of texture, bc I don't really know what is considered fine, medium, or coarse), and low density, growing out of a sensitive scalp--what is a good regimen for keeping the hair healthy, in order to grow it out?

My split ends were cut last month. My next appointment for a trim is in April. I have fine hair. 👀 Thanks to you, I will have a specific conversation with my natural haircare stylist about my goal to retain length and about how often I need a trim based on my hair’s history. Thank you for this video. ❤️
