This just shows that laws in the US don't apply to you if you're rich or a company.

For me, the biggest question is what happened or what will happen to the CEOs that oversaw the destruction of Boing. They decided to prioritize the shareholders instead of investing in the company. And now what?

You do know who ends up paying all these fines and penalties? Yes, the consummers! It ends up just being further taxation by the government. Ultimately, those fines will be paid out of ticket prices and ultimately go into the government fingers.

at this point the FAA should just force boeings entire management to leave and replace it. The ENTIRE management at boeing NEEDS to go

Because of the crashes happening with Ethiopian and Lion Air... justice was not served as fast and the way the families wanted. Imagine if it was Delta or American Airlines.

The FAA should also shoulder some blame in this debacle which is Boeing. They gave Boeing lots of leeway regarding manufacturing and safety inspectors were Boeing employee's.

I'm a little surprised that other aircraft types possibly using the same PSU were not included in THE AD.

I wonder how resident Boeing fan Nicky will spin this into also being an Airbus issue, and that Boeing is doing fine...

Previous anamalies related to malfeasances have sadly morphed into nornalities as share price is prioritized over aircraft's quality. Boeing must be liable for all defects and increased oversight from regulators should linger to preempt further issues.

Imo the Max is a plane that should have never been & Boeing have been given a sweetheart deal yet again US DOJ gives away a sweetheart deal

It is a slap on the wrist... again.. for what I read, the last fines and compensations were absorbed in taxe breaks and/ or cover by insurance.. Until manager people go to jail, nothing will change..

At least they are agreeing to plead guilty (but why didn’t they do that after it happened instead of now)

This is what happens when you cut corners to save money and just caring about making money. Boeing needs to really start fixing their problems.

Why the 737 MAX is still allowed in the air is beyond me. Not a chance I’d step onboard one.

What I don’t understand is at the first moment those downed planes pilots had elevator issues why they didn’t just flick the 2 stab trim switches to off? Did they do that but mcas still took control of pitch?

People need to be held accountable, not just the corporation. Ignoring safety and falsifying information is a human decision.

My understanding is that its insurance company will pay at least 50% of the fine - pointless !!
