I never thought I would ever be a marathon fan until I saw Kipchoge. Super amazing.

The best part of this is that throughout the race, you see runners from all different countries handing each other drinks and ice, despite the fact they are competing. The marathon is the greatest event.

It’s heart breaking to see the elite athletes falling due to injury in the middle of the race. They had worked years to be here 😢😢😢 All the participants of Marathon Run deserve our respect ✊

If I start running from the same line, I'd be finishing an hour later after Kipchoge, on a bike.

Kipchoge is insane he didn't even get tired after running 42km.

Knowing the pain, misery and grief I'm putting myself through trying to break 3 hours, I can't imagine how much these guys go through in training. Inspirational.

I love how the team (Kipchoge, Kipruto and Cherono) run looking after each other at the water/ice stations, picking extras to hand over to the other. It really warms my heart

Incredible how easy it looks for Kipchoge. Hope he wins 3 in a row in Paris, would be one of the great sporting achievements of all time if he does that.

While the commentators struggled with the 'Is it a smile or a grimace?' debate, all the other runners looked like they were delivering babies.

Kipchoge is an all time great, no matter how much attention he was given over the past ten years. He had never got the noise that some others were privileged with, but in years to come, people will realise that this is not some ordinary distance runner. He's a road running machine.

What a legend Kipchoge is. He could have chosen some Nike event, Ineos or big city marathon and made buckets of money yet he chose to represent his country at the Olympics. Every marathon requires so much effort that it knocks you out from other races for 6 months at elite level.

Fun fact: The qualifying time for Olympic Marathron is 2:11:30 or by placing in the top 10 at the World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 or in Platinum Label marathons, or in the top five at Gold Label
Basically it means every runner is super elite yet they are being trashed by Kipchoge like nobody

Heat and Humidity are marathoners' worst enemies. This is a tough medal to earn, let alone running the full 26.2. Great jobs to all.

Abdi Nageeye of Holland waving at his Somalian brother Bashir Abdi of Belgium 🇧🇪 that was a sight to behold.

2:18:50 What a legend Abdi Negeye as he pushes Bashir, because it is so difficult situation at time to help another one for tiredness... Even you are not sure your medal. That is a kind of legendary and real sacrifice.
SOMALI people are absolutely heroes.

The longer the race the more involvement of the spirit. Usain Bolt is a power machine, Kipchoge is a guru.
Middle distance is where it gets fascinating!
