In today's bustling world, where we often equate hustle with success, comes a compelling counter-narrative that challenges our modern paradigms. Dive deep with us into the ancient Eastern philosophy of Wu Wei - the art of effortless action. Discover how, paradoxically, doing less can sometimes lead to achieving more.

In this video:
🌀 Unearth the historical roots of 'Wu Wei' in Daoism and its resonances in Zen Buddhism.
🌊 Embrace the wisdom of Lao Tzu as we explore the water metaphor, revealing lessons in adaptability and resilience.
🧠 Traverse the bridges between ancient philosophy and modern psychology, spotlighting the 'flow state' as described by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
🏢 Journey across varied domains, from business breakthroughs to iconic art, witnessing firsthand the power of 'non-action'.
🌍 Reflect upon society's relentless drumbeat for action and how it sometimes clashes with our well-being.

I am 72 years old, and I know when you try to force yourself upon life it’s hard. You need to relax and let things happen and everything will come to you. God will provide

This is not about non action, but right action, optimal balance between action and rest. It is not about "not trying", but knowing when to stop, when to retreat. Water can be brutal, forceful, as in Tsunamis and major floods.

Good video, but there's nothing specific here. I recommend everyone to find the forbidden book Whispers of Manifestation on Borlest you'll be shocked by the secret attraction techniques it contains

I have never believed in hitting your head against a brick wall. Just go around, climb over, dig under, or sit and admire the bricks. It's a brick wall it is there for a reason. You don't have to be there. The art of side stepping is my biggest asset.

Both action and non action are extremely valuable, true wisdom is knowing when to exercise them

The most prolific musicians and artists I’ve ever known were the calmest and most serene individuals I’ve ever met. I initially found this paradoxical and slowly realized it was precisely why they got so much accomplished.

For those curious, I highly recommend Manly P. Hall’s “Intensity without Tension” lectures that can be found on YouTube.

PS: this video is phenomenal and I have listened to it 7 times. I am reevaluating my approach to life and this is the soundtrack.

I love this video essay on Wu Wei so much. I will listen to this many more times. 'Nature does not rush yet it always achieves everything it needs.' 🙏

I've been practicing this for years when I create my art without even noticing... I just love the calmness that comes with it.❤

I absolutely loved this reflection of eastern beliefs vs western culture and the metaphor of the river and water that constantly flows, even if obstructed. This has been a big learning for me to let go of the doing and surrendering. My doing nature, wasn’t comfortable with this. Since I started letting go, my life has brought me amazing connections and opportunities that I am so overwhelmed and grateful to receive. I also loved Amir’s soothing voice.

Oddly enough the less I do the more I have. Time is way more valuable than money ❤😮

I’ve subconsciously been aware of this philosophy but never practice it. In fact I told someone recently
“Stop donig and just be.
The doing will take care
of itself”
Fascinating.
Now that I’m consciously aware of it maybe I’ll start practicing it.
Thanks.

My motto has long been:

"When in doubt, don't.
When you're sure about a right course of action, go for it!"

My mother was like this (referring to her as Yoda). And I'm a lot like my mother. On the other hand my father was just the opposite. And I come to this conclusion at a young age not to act so much like my father but to embrace my mothers balance being ⚖️☺️
