Don’t Worry, Everything is Out of Control | Taoist Antidotes to Worry

The writings of the ancient Taoists persuade us to go in a different direction: we ought to let go of existing concepts and worldviews, become aware of emptiness, let nature take its course, and move with nature rather than against it. The goal? An easier life, less worrying… following Tao, the universal principle. This video explores ancient Taoist ideas that may serve as antidotes for reducing worry in a world out of control.

“Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it.” Let things simmer and cook. 🔥 Thank you for your work. 🙏

He who lives in the past is stressful, he who lives in the future is anxious but he who lives in the present is at peace.

To anybody who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life. I hope anything that bothers you and makes you feel depressed will go away and you will feel comfortable with this video. Don't worry, tomorrow is a new day. Start over. It's not too late yet.

I have no idea how taoism did this, but it truly helped me with my anxiety. I've always been a control freak, always believed I could have all of my life in control. Obviously it never happened and I lived with insane anxiety. I could not accept the fact that there were things out of my control, I was too anxious and afraid to make peace with it. Then, I discovered taoism and somehow it just clicked. I understood it and made peace with the uncontrollable and unknown. Of course I am a work in progress, but anxiety doesn't have me in a chokehold anymore. I'm relieved I can't control everything.

reminds me Bruce Lee quote:

You must be shapeless, formless,
like water.
When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup.
When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle.
When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Water can drip and it can crash.
Become like water my friend !

Before I listened to this, my stress level was 8/10, now it's 1/10. Thank you and have a great day!

People think too much and often lack the ability to stay in the living moment because they tend to be obsessed with obtaining favourable outcomes and maintaining control. Swimming is a decent analogy to explain how to work with the conditions you're met with because water is very powerful and can be an ally if you literally 'go with the flow' and use your body correctly to glide smoothly through water as opposed to splashing around wrecklessly. Nobody fights water and wins. Also you need to let go and stopping flailing in order to float.

One of my favourite quotes is "don't try". at first i thought it meant to give up but truly theres an art with not trying just show up and be true. when present in that experience happiness blooms 💮

Your videos help me remember inner peace by not forcing things and just letting them be. Yesterday when I was a work there was a man who was yelling at me. And at first it was getting to me but then I started to remember. It doesn't really matter and I can't control that guys life. Later on smooth things out but all the anxiety was unnecessary because it resolved itself anyway. Just gotta go with the flow for sure .Can't win em all let them win sometimes... Thank You Brother!

During a difficult period in my life, I re-read my English translation of the _Tao Te Ching._ It is one of the most comforting books I have ever read. For anyone struggling with depression or anxiety, I highly recommend it as a sort of companion book to read daily, and remember, "Accept what _is…_ every moment of the day."

This came at such a perfect time! I was reciting something that I heard a month ago "Sometimes, not getting what you want is a blessing." The same could be said about getting what you dont want, as sometimes, It might be what you NEED

Stress is a legit epidemic in America. My uncle looked like the healthiest person alive but with his insomnia and stress at work, he died in his late 50s. Thats why Im overly careful about my stress levels. I work out about 4-5 times a week, I avoid stressful social situations, and I take my sleep hygiene very seriously using melatonin to calm my mind down before bedtime every night.

Your channel never disappoints in delivering such great wisdom & thought provoking reflections about life, reality & our universe. Thank you & much respect for all you do!

“Happiness and freedom begin with a clear understanding of one principle: Some things are within our control, and some things are not. It is only after you have faced up to this fundamental rule and learned to distinguish between what you can and can’t control that inner tranquility and outer effectiveness become possible.” - Epictetus, The Art of Living

Antidote 1. I learned it when I was young. That's how I knew just let things be. 2. Learned it in my teen years, lol! I stopped chasing after happiness and fulfilment and began enjoying the present moment. That special moment when I realized just how lucky I was to be there, drinking tea in the morning and playing with my dog. 3. Never liked being congratulated or praised. It feels empty and shallow. Why would you praise an action, when you don't know what it took for me to get there? I rather praise myself whether I make it or don't make it. Small wins and big wins have to be celebrated with yourself or with the people you trust. Antidote 4. Beautifully well-explained! Thank you! 5. Fate cannot be controlled. If the rain comes along, it might bring disaster or a blessing in disguise. It is how you decide to react afterwards and make the most of it. Believe me, I would know when I was jobless and w/o financial help. In the hospital, all I could think of was "What comes it will come. First I'm gonna make sure I get better. Then slowly build things back up." Life happens and when a door closes, another door opens. Another chapter begins... and you restart.
