I found this one scary and thrilling as a kid. I still do. Hunkering down on my bed. Dog with me. Not a problem Speed couldn’t fix. New dog. Same superb results.

This is my absolute FAVORITE episode of Speed Racer. The robot & his voice scared the heck out of me as a kid. Always love hearing the sound of the X3. I absolutely loved watching Speed Racer as a kid, and I would rush home from school to watch every episode. It's so nice seeing this very entertaining cartoon again. No other cartoon like it.

My favorite episodes of Speed Racer-- Race for Revenge, Race Against the Mammoth Car, Challenge of the Masked Racer, The Fastest Car on Earth, The Fire Race, and The Trick Race. Actually, it's difficult to stop at six (6) episodes and I could list more.
Speed Racer was and always will be one of my most favorite cartoons of all time.

My absolute favorite musical piece from the entire series, originally used for the intro of “The Most Dangerous Race, Part 2, ” appears again at 20:40 as the race begins. My lifelong love of BGM began with pieces like that one. Koshibe was a genius!

I've never really cared about the Fast and the Furious, but I'd watch a whole series about this villain. Between the otherworldly eerieness of the car and robot and the drama of the Marker family, the X3 really is the total package as MGGG villains go.

Speed Racer was on channel 40 which was a UHF channel.
We didnt get UHF only VHF..so everyday after school I would go over to the neighbor's so I could watch speed racer..marine boy and the munsters was also on channel 40.

as a kid watching this I always saw it as a scarry ghost story, probably because of that. he was like the headless horseman

I’ve enjoyed SR ever since its American debut in the late 60s. It’s never explained why the Mach 5 sounds different in this story than any of the others (Would Pops really replace the engine and then go back to the original one?), but it’s a great sound!
