better to go to net and hold racquet overhead on edge like a hatchet then swing down and pronate, slapping the racquet face on the top edge of the net. This demonstrates how pronation delivers power into the serve. Then have the player back up to the middle of the service box and toss up a few balls and use that motion to drive the ball down into the service box on the other side of the net. Then back up to the middle the backcourt and repeat. The the baseline.

When there's a on the ceiling at 3 am and you don't want to wake your partner while attempting to squash it.

I think this a wrong drill .
pronation is supposed to be automatic when you trying to hit the ball ..you don't the racket like that.

continental grip, and toss to your right a little, inside the court, try to hit it with the adge of the racket, try to hit up and out, try not to trurn your head early, look up to the ball when u hit . the pronation will be automatic as you try to stretch the racket as high as possible when aiming towards the ball ..

don't mind to stroke with this beautiful lady .

I think its too much pronation.... During actual service I don't think anyone can do this ..

The thing to understand is the forearm pronates and aids in the wrist snap for those saying this is not pronation. Sampras did this the best in my opinion.

Just ensure you have continental grip and that will help as you cannot really hit the ball using the edge of the racket.. your brain will know that

I have double jointed elbows, i think my wrist would snap if i try n do this

Just hit normal. Don't try hard to rotate it. It would rotate itself. I tried to rotate and hard and that was my huge mistake.

I don’t see how this twist motion adds power or spin.

You need to flip the pronation in a right Angle, otherwise it wood damage your hand

no one will learn pronation this way

first of all, pronation in this case happens way too late and someone who tries it with an actual ball will cut through the ball

second of all, to learn pronation youy need to actually practice with the ball because someone who tries this will quickly forgot about it when practicing their servers FOR REAL

Pronation is not so good for newbie students. Learn slice for service is a better choice.

I was never tought to do pronation.
it will happen automatically...people get hurt trying to do this motion at the wrong time and using too much forearm and humble opinion

Might be too straight of the forearm-racket angle?

no, no no....

The "flipping of the wrist" shown here will come naturally when you get racket head speed up and you use the axe-grip on the racket

Le problème c'est que dans la vraie vie, au moment de servir, il y a pas de bâche.
