Huge Serve Improvement (One Easy Tennis Tip)
1. When lifting your racket up, point the tip of your racket to the right of the camera’s view (if right handed)
2. Doing this keeps you away from the waiters tray serve and helps you use a circular racket motion

You got this!

Great tip Ryan !
Watching you serving in your previous video, I was really amazed by the way you were lifting your racket pointing to the side reaching then the power position.
I tried to copy you and I can testify this is a great way to avoid the waiter tray.
Thanks for all your videos.

It is also very interesting to watch your shadow on the ground. The sun casts the shadow perfectly parallel to the end line of the court, so I can follow the toss of the ball, mainly how far forward from your left foot it is when you hit.

I really like your videos. Please keep them short like this, it’s called 2 minute tennis after all :)

Yes, it works! Also, the ball goes in the service box consistently.

What you you say is the biggest difference in motion between first and second serve that we should pay attention to ?

Pretty amazing pronation there Ryan. If there was a birthday hat for pronation I'd be your first adopter. It's so far down the checklist I keep forgetting to do it.

We (a bunch of 60-75 year old guys) need help. I'll show them this (esp the circular path of the strings at 2:32) and shoot video of them.
.
Yikes! 2 day update: video of myself showed a practice swing Ryan would be proud to say he coached, but only one actual serve with that swing. On the remaining serves, my hand and racket went up with the strings facing down but then they continued in a high arc, passing through the waiters tray position as part of the circle ending with hitting the ball. Gotta fix it! I'm planning to hit some slow motion serves and gradually increase the speed hoping to cure this.
By the way, love the Coach's Eye app that Ryan advocated in another lesson.

Internet teachers remain obsessed with curing the "waiter's tray" even though _I've_ gotten beyond that (just because many _other_ people still have the problem, apparently). But I still rarely have my serves hitting the back fence after only one bounce, so apparently there are a lot of other potential problems.

I looked at your videos and your website in detail. Your videos are really good. But about 95 % of the information you publish there is from Vic Braden ' s research. There are almost no references to this fact. If there are exceptional references, these are not clear enough. This ist not fair Ryan.
