Jeff Salzenstein shares four amazing tips to easily improve your tennis serve, as well as develop rhythm and effortless power. These awesome serve tips will help you to improve your serve mechanics and technique, so you can build a world class tennis serve.
Tip One: Continuous Swing Motion
Get the racquet moving in a continuous fashion, with a slow-fast tempo on your motion. Remember that you don’t need to use your legs, you can just stand, and let the racquet move. You don’t want to slow down or pause at any point in the motion.
Tip Two: Find The Edge
Practice coming at the ball up on edge before you rotate your shoulder, and square the racquet face up to the ball.
Tip Three: The ¾ serve drill
Start in a platform stance, and get your racquet strings facing towards the front knee. Then, you can toss the ball, turn your shoulder, and bring the racquet up to hit the tennis serve.
Tip Four: Slow-Go
You want to build a rhythm that you can almost count one-two, or slow go. If you verbally say these words and numbers, it will help you develop the tempo and the rhythm inside your body.
Tip Five: Perform Mini-Leg Squats
Many players struggle to load the back leg and use the front hip efficiently. Perhaps they lack the right stability and mobility to do it. Therefore, performing single leg mini squats can help you work on this concept. The challenge is to lift your hips while maintaining weight on your back leg. This isn’t an easy concept to master, but you can develop it by training your body off the court .
