What really helps sell this entire sequence is that sweeping yet majestic John Barry score. The likes of his music is sorely missed.

I feel it necessary to point out the depth gauge for the Titanic on the monitor is 12, 347 feet, and in reality it lays at a depth of 12, 500 feet. They were pretty damn close.

Regardless of whether you like this movie the music in these scenes is to me absolutely beautiful

If Only. I cry every time in the scene where she is towed into New York Harbour ...to so much joy and celebration. Her Moment that she was denied. May they all Rest in Peace.

Kind of creepy seeing Titanic and the World Trade Centre in the same shot.

I was one of the few who actually caught this in the movies.
Try to remember, Ballard wouldn't find the wreck for another 5 years after this was released, and the preservation of deep wrecks is sometimes astonishing, so it's not quite as
far fetched as many think.
That said, it's a quite silly movie based on an even sillier book.
But that soundtrack!
Few scores have captured the subject as well-sweeping, grand yet laden with sorrow.
Mr Barry, I salute you.

Even though the movie was a flop you have to hand it to the SFX team for creating something like this. The groaning noises really sell the scene.

Remember this was before Bob Ballard found her. And sadly this movie will now be known for the implosion scene of Starfish because it happened with OceanGate Titan.

There is something so disturbing seeing the Titanic next to the Twin Towers... two tragedies next to each other, very emotional

Remains one of the big screen moments in cinema history.

The orchestral music thats playing when he takes a look inside always made me think it was like an echo from what must've been playing before she went down.

It’s actually a really underrated movie, if you ignore all the little 80 isms (as if the ships horn would still work after 70 years at the bottom of the ocean). If only the Titanic was actually in one piece - and in that condition.

The raison why the titanic in this movie is in still better shape is because it wasn’t found until 1985 and before nobody believed that the titanic has split or lost her funnels the titanic survivors did said that it split in two but no one wanted to believe it
