The 1980 film "Raise the Titanic" was based on the best selling novel by Clive Cussler. At that time, the resting place of the real Titanic had still not been located, and there had been differing survivor accounts regarding the condition of the ship in the moments before it sank. However in 1985 the wreckage was finally discovered, and it soon became clear as to how badly damaged the Titanic's remains truly were.

At the time this movie came out, everyone was wondering would the Titanic ever be found? And what riches could be discovered at the bottom of the ocean. A treasure hunters dream. This track is haunting, almost like opening a window to the past.

In this film, the Titanic finally arrived in New York, a magical spectacle.

Aaah, a more innocent time when we didn't know the freaking thing broke in 2 or more parts. The movie is cool, the author that wrote the book this is based on, Clive Cussler, wrote a lot of marine based and adventure novels. Highly recommended! Cheers and thanks for the upload!

One of those great movies where the fantastic soundtrack almost surpasses the story of the movie. But well done to John Barry for this fantastic soundtrack.

I never tire of that theme. I used to play it for the feral cats when I was working at an animal shelter it would calm them down.

Excellent job.
I have seen this movie several time in the past. Allways with emotion.
I was a child when the Titanic was located, in 1985. I was 10 years old. An important event. My parents offered me the book of the naval expedition who discover Him.
This tragedy marked me very much, even if I have no family related in victims.
I have red and watched lots of documentaries and video about this tragedy.
The movie "SOS Titanic" was also very powerfull in emotion.
I have visited the temporary show in Paris years ago about the Titanic (I was a teenager).
Raise the Titanic was produced before we know that the wreck is fragmentend and in bad condition.
This movie is of course quite unrealistic, for lots of reasons, and typical of a political context, and very "patriotic" for USA of course. But I like it.
And the music is very important of course, the great John Barry. We find the same harmonic than in the Walt Disney SF movie "The Black Hole", 1979, music about John Barry too. If you don't know "The Black Hole", watch it, very interesting, and far more different than the Wald Disney politics now.
The Titanic is condamned to slowly diseapered. In a century there will probably no remains of it, pression, cold water, micro organism, rust, destroy him relentlessly.

Bonsoir... Un petit bonjour de France pour vous dire que j'adore votre travail. Speed de Jan De Bond fête ses 30 ans. Serais-t 'il possible d'avoir son hommage ? J'aimerais également Day of thunder si possible. En tout cas merci pour tous ces agréables souvenirs...

Great music and a super book by Clive cussler, it’s good movie that should have done better.

This is a great case of a movie not being worthy of the music composed for it.

It's Barry, so it sounds like a super moody James Bond Score.

Spielberg needs to direct a Clive Cussler story

But in reality this can't be done. Titanic is split in half and in a million pieces.

In 1985 this movie became irrelevant lol
But I am sure it is a cool story.
