The disk I am trying to recover is NOT formatted atm.. but it had windows and several important files and pictures... All I keep seeing are TRIAL programs..

I've used the program since 2005-2006 and it's great. If you don't know how data recovery works and you don't have much patience, this data recovery is not for you.i Pay the $$ to get someone to do it for you.

@SuperClusterfunk I am only one man and have a life outside of youtube and my forums, I cant answer every question or comment, I am sorry... there is just to many. I dont know without looking at your data recovery, have you tried to save them to a external drive? I know saving from C: to D: works ok, but I have never backed up like that I have always backed up to a external drive. and sorry for late reply.

Thank you for the video. I also deleted some files by accident from my external hard drive and as it wasn't enough, I over wrote on it. I have tried several programs, including Recuva and TestDisk. I was able to recover some but not all. Then I came across PC Inspector recovery program. It's pretty easy to use and it works mostly, but it doesn't recover all lost files. Also, the program is pretty sensitive. You have to recover one file at the time if they are .mp4 files. I noticed that you wrote 'You can still get data back even after a format'. Can I recover my files from an external hard drive after the files were deleted and over written and how?

The screen you see after the scan, you were selecting from the "DELETED FILES", what happens if you select the ROOT directory? I've tried to save the files (and I'm saving from D: to C:) but they don't show up. Whats up with that?

In the "DELETED" folder, I don't recognize any of the names. I can show you a screen dump if you want me to email you. Something seems to be wrong, and I need help.

Britec, you said that this was a video on how to recover data from a crashed hard drive. You can't use software to recover data from a crashed drive. Crashed is the same as failed. Crashed implies that the read write head assembly has crashed on the platter. Software only works for deleted data in the form of a logical recovery.

you can get files back years later as long as you have not been scrubing and over writing the drive.
