Sony a7s III vs a7III: Video and Photography Comparison

The A7sIII and the A7III are both great cameras. I compare both in photography and video work to help you decide which one might be best for you. The Sony A7sIII is fantastic for video in low light and photography too. The A7III has been the best hybrid photo and video camera on the market for 2 years now. They both have excellent auto focus and plenty of ability to produce great photos and videos. For photography the Sony A7s iii doesn't disappoint one bit but there are few cases where you may want to choose the A7iii instead. For low light video both the a7siii and a7iii perform really well but the a7siii has better performance overall. The a7iii is an amazing camera for the hybrid shooter. Even tho the low light isn't as good as the A7siii, it's still waaayy better than everyone else. Great video 👌🏽

Great video Jake! I do like ur point about the autofocus being usable even in extreme under/over exposed conditions. But the a7iii seems to be holding its own in a lot of situations!

The one thing I notice immediately is that the SIII has much better detail both in photo and video, and I think it's because of the lack of AA filter. When I moved from the original A7S mark I to the A7III, I noticed that my A7S had much better detail even though it was only 12mp. I find the A7III rather quite soft when you look at edges or high contrast scenes. I also notice the same thing with my old Fuji X-Pro1 which also has no AA filter, it has a much nicer/sharper look (though very bad dynamic range compared to the A7III. Still, the A7III is a great camera with a lot to offer but I do miss the details of the S series. Great video.
