In this video I will show you a quick and easy way to adjust the slipper clutch in an ARRMA Mega, 3S and 4S line of car using a 2MM hex driver. I used an ARRMA Typhon 3S V3 in the video.

I realize this is old, but I am hoping someone spots this and can help me out. I recently ripped up my spur gear in my Typhon mega (technically, I upgraded to a brushless 3s motor set, but the slipper clutch is still original). So first I'd like to reiterate that this video does not apply to the mega. It has a nut that gets tightened (unless the mega changed slipper clutch assembly since this video was put out).

Here's my issue. I ordered a new clutch assembly, but disassembled mine just to see how it works, and it makes zero sense to me. The spur gear and the metal part (pressure plate is all I can think of the name) are both splined and on the same shaft. This appears to make the friction plate completely irrelevant as the 2 cannot be spun independently. What am I missing? The replacement I ordered should be the assembly from a 3s, so it shouldn't matter, but I am trying to understand how the mega one worked.
