When starter on Volvo don't crank

Turning the key arround does nothing just keep trying and like on the 27th atempt it will crank. But to really fix the problem start from tihhtening your battery terminals. Check and tighten battery disconnect switch cables terminals. Check starter relay that sits on the starter. Se if signal from computer comes when other person turns the key. Or if you are alone and just need to start the truck. Just turn the ignition on, go under truck and connect power contacts of the relay with screw driver. Power contacts are 2 out of 4 that have thicker wires connected to them. One of them wires goes to starter pull relay. Pull relay when powered makes loud click as starter gear pulls in to flywheel. If you dont hear that loud click meand you didnt connect power contacts good anough or you dont have power coming to the contact. Or your pull relay burned. If you do hear a loud click but starter doesnt turn means main contacts inside your pull relay are burned and do not connect. They are the once that power starter motor after starter gear is engaged with fly wheel. In this case you need to try clicking many times and sometimes it will make connection. Tapping the starter with hammer may help sometimes. If nothing helps you need to connect small relay power contacts and pull relay contacts with another screw driver. So when starter gear is engaged, motor would spin and start the engine. If your starter relay rusted badly buy a new one on ebay for 20$. If your pull relay is not powering starter motor you gonna need a new starter. Or try rebuilding old one if you can.

Disconnect Negative cables for a few seconds and reconnect. The damn Trans Control Modules on them like to not engage or power up. Then boom, it will start no problem.

First check the two fuses on the battery, and then use a wrench to tighten the screw that fixes the positive wire behind the main electrical switch of your volvo truck, and the problem will be solved. This is a common problem with Volvo trucks. I've encountered 5 trucks like this. 😺

Turn on the power switch that turns on the semi truck and maybe that's the problem, maybe it's next to the driver seat

Please disconnect your inverter. I had the same problem. Once I disconnected my inverter problem solved. Bad inverters cause that.

I replaced my starter on my 2020 Volvo on 290k. It had power but the key switch to crank it was dead.

What's your gear selector in? And since your gauges are not moving. I assume you have a dead battery.

in my case the first time it was the Ignition Lock Switch and then I changed the starter problem solved

I have similar issue. The problem on my truck is that I have a power in the cab and the lights turns on, and there is no lights no power coming to the dashboard. What do you think might be the issue?

Check all your wires and cabls starting at the battery. The workmanship at the Volvo factory is Hit and Miss these days

Could be a bad battery jumpers, loose wires.
