I've been thinking that Terry's career is divided by fases in terms of storytelling and visuals:
1. Badlands, Days Of Heaven
2. The Thin Red Line, The New World
3.The Tree Of Life, To The Wonder, Knight Of Cups, Song To Song (This four could actually be part of the same story).
4. A Hidden Life

Extremely pleasing! But was 2:45 - 2:51 from To the Wonder? Wasn't it The Tree of Life?

What is the song called? Was it used as a soundtrack, because it sounds familiar.

As if TM directed the water, sun, wind and clouds...all I see is cinematography and editing. Jaques Cousteau provided this stuff back in the day.

You use his shots of nature to define him as a genius?

I love Malik's work but this is poor.

TM is a great photographer: beautiful moving pictures. Not a great director though. Apparently he mainly lets the actors improvise and sees if he can do something with it. That has nothing to do with storytelling and directing. Never confuse incompetence with genius. After The Thin Red Line he hasn't made a decent film, they're merely hot air. Halfway through Knight of Cups I had had enough of this artsy fartsy nonsense and walked out of the cinema.
