Movies: Professor walking up and down the aisles, the entire class awake and engaged.
Reality: Professor standing at the board the entire lecture, writing incoherently and the students half-asleep.

This is why it's so important for kids to be exposed to a wide variety of hobbies, subjects and perspectives. True genius is rare. I think in 42 years I've met maybe 2 and neither of them were in fields of study or work where their aptitude would ever shine so other's would notice, not unless you knew them very well.

This video is a great example of difference between being either hard working or being prodigious with raw talent

"What lies behind every controversy about Shakespeare is rage over the nature; an unequal distribution of talent. Rage that genius appears, where it appears, for no material reason at all."

I've always liked movies with a lecture scene. I guess it reminds me of my days in college and the professors in the movies tend to make some profound points.

"Genius is magic, if you don't have, you don't have it, No amount wishing will make it so!"
I wanna be a genius, and hell of a quote.

The magic of this movie is that it’s sense are so minimal but says more then it displays

Allen Gannett debunks the myth of the "magical, unattainable genius" in his book, The Creative Curve. There are many actions and factors that go into the creation of a "genius". Natural-born talent is only one of them. That said, not just anyone can become a genius at anything. Like they say in Ratatouille, not everyone can become a great cook, but a great cook can come from anywhere.

It really feels like Mark plays the same character in every movie! This time he’s just not swearing

Always felt this way about people who doubted that Shakespeare could have produced all his great works.

Classic Jung and Nietzsche oozing from this scene: Be gods, become what you are. Powerful.
