The reason why he got zero on every test was because he didn't want to break his dad's heart cause his dad thought the boy was his son who died I think 40 years ago and the father got some a sorta minor mental illness and thought the boy was his son and the other boy was planning to tell the guys 'niece' that he liked her live on tv so that's why he decided to do the test well.

I remembner a Teacher in one Movie or Series realizing that the Studennt did do 0 Points on Purpose on a Test with Multiple-Choice-Questions, since even if he did random ly choose the Answeres, he should get a few Points.
So the Teacher realized that the only way to always get the wrong answers was to understand the Questions and avoiding the correct ones on Purpose.

So basically the guy with the awesome hair was always last. The school was sending a rep to a tv quiz show so all students had to take an exam. Hair guy decided to take the exam seriously because Simon said he'd do something when he won the quiz so hair guy wanted to block that. The teachers thought he cheated though because he wanted the prize money so he had to defend himself.
