As someone with so many hours in this game, it's so weird watching someone play this game without no prior or little knowledge. It's funny and entertaining to watch especially since the devs wants everyone to play a specific way.

"You're playing the game wrong"(300% xp). 1) if the settings allow it, you're not playing it wrong 2) the zombies and loot in the world scale to your level. If you choose 300% xp, you will level up quickly, but you will face far more difficult zombies also.

Definitely do the 100-200! Set yourself challenges or tasks like set up a load of traps and shit for the blood moon so you can take it to your base and not sit in the basement of a church with a block stopping all the zombies😂 I thought that was pretty funny

I've found our channel though this video, and im really glad you have a good time in the game. Is a super enjoyable experience watching someone struggle with the stuff this game has to offer, but still trying, learning, and progressing through it. And obviously your commentary and edit made the experience even better for me, since is nice to know your thought on the game

The bone knife has a secondary fire (m2), despite the bone knife being a tool for skinning animals; hitting zombies in the head with the secondary fire does a stupidly high amount of damage.

Also, keep playing without knowing a single shit, the moment when you get something cool that you didn't know existed or having those "ohhh, that's how it works" moments are the best, the progression system is really rewarding.
Also, you'll have to be one with the jank, you'll have a hard time if you don't.
Anywho, that's all I can say without spoiling much, nice video it was very goofy.

Also I sucked in a huge breath at 36:00. You just dodged a HUGE bullet when taking care of that Demolisher. If you hit that device on his right pec, you and that room would have been straight up deleted.

Earned my subscription. It's good you're able to laugh at yourself in a self-deprecating manner. Don't be fooled - the game has been in Alpha for a long time and the perception there's only one correct or min-max way to play the game is strong in the fandom. The single best selling point and replay ability factor of the game is there is no 'right or wrong' way to play it. It's refreshing after having played the game for as many hours as I have to see other people make different choices based on their video-game background. I really enjoyed the video. Something to be mindful of is the massive amount of possible content that can be farmed from this game; from mods to self limitations of weapon usage to scenarios. This doesn't even touch on multiplayer co-op, shenanigans, or PVP events. Best of luck in your future youtube endeavors

Just stumbled on this video. Love the style and it's so interesting to me to see someone who has never played this game play it because I've logged enough hours in this game some things that are automatic to me are not intuitive to the new player so it's great to see. I forgot what it was like discovering new mechanics. It was so funny to me seeing no horde base from you because that's such an integral part of most players games I forgot that if you don't really know how the hordes work you wouldn't know how to build one.

Also seeing you auger a car instead of wrench it and have no idea about heat maps and screamer mechanics... I was kind of hoping you'd get a few endless screamer hordes just to spice the game up for you. Also, driving the gyrocopter is a learning curve for everyone even the experienced players lol

A little tip: Rush the traders like crazy and do as many jobs as possible as early as possible while your game stage is still low.

I love people doing first play throughs! This is my fave game, I have about 450 hours and there’s still so much that I need to learn. Bone knives are only good for skinning animals, not fighting zombies aha the zombie dogs are just one of the random horde spawns you get every few in game days. 300xp is good but the quicker you level up the harder the zombies are so it kinda counters each other:) if you put a ladder up two blocks high zombies can’t get up after you so it’s always a good wee tip if you get stuck somewhere:) happy playing!

So one thing that drives me insane that you did was drag everything to your toolbox. Hold shift and right click the thing you want, it will put it in your inventory instantly.

Just for future reference, the knifes (bone knife and hunting knife) are meant for harvesting animals you kill for more food. Its a horrible weapon but a great harvester. Hopes this helps with future gameplay!

It's a great game with what seems like a very hard learning curve, but actually pretty easy to get into, especially with "Easy" zombies. It is janky at times, and it has it's very own graphical style, which I think is stunning at times, the weather, lighting and generated cities are amazing. The gunplay also feels surprisingly good, though it does make the game beyond easy when you get the M60 and ammo crafting up and running. As a world building engine, I don't really know why they haven't been snapped up by one of the big corps, it could easily be transported into other games.
