Wilt was exponentially superior to Shaq in every category!

Wilt was pushing 325 in his late years in philly and his tenure with the lakers. He weighed as much as shaq in the early 2000s but was built like lebron. Thats scary. Hes said he could bench over 600 pounds. Wilt was easily the strongest player to ever stand on an nba court

wilt stopped himself, no other man could stop him

At 0:40 you said they had to change rules to try to slow Shaq down. All they had to do was call the thousands of charging fouls he committed. That would have very amply slowed him down.

The rule regarding charging fouls back then was crazy. You could barely back your defender down without being given a charging foul

Shaq was great, but Wilt knew if he did the stuff Shaq did, people would have died.

Wilt was great and dominant. And some still say that he's the greatest of all time. But him not winning doesn't bother me too much. Yeah, I feel he (Wilt)should've won more. But, basketball isn't a one man game. He ran against those Celtics teams that were just better and deeper than his team. Wilt was usually the best player in those games, but his teammates got drilled. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Wilt Chamberlain has his own record books! A demigod that appears every 100 years or not even. Basketball was and is, his

Finals MVP award didn't exist in 1967 when Wilt won his first championship. He most certainly would have won Finals MVP that year if it existed. So Wilt would have had 2 Finals MVPs.

Wilt's teams also came within just a few points of winning in 4 Game 7's against the Celtics. In total, Wilt's teams lost those 4 games by just 9 points. So Wilt would have potentially had 6 rings instead of 2 if just 9 points in his career played out differently.

1962 Game 7 could've went to the OT, but Wilt's teammate threw a bad inbounds pass that Russell intercepted and ended it. 1968-1969 Game7 losses were really out of Wilt's hand. 1965 Game 7 loss was just pure bad luck and bad decision. Wilt was on fire that night; 30 points on 80% shooting, including two clutch free throws, last 10 points of his team from himself, and a dunk with five seconds left that made the Sixers trailing by 1 point, and he still lost. Not only that, but Russell choked in the last plays; he let Wilt dunk on him easily, and botched an inbound pass. Then one of Wilt's teammates botched their own inbound pass and Havlicek stole it and saved the Celtics that night.

If Wilt and Shaq were to match up against each other, I see Wilt having the advantage. Both Shaq and Wilt had their competitors bouncing off of them, so physically they were be close to equal. So, Shaq wouldn't be able to back down Wilt and get a dunk as often as he could on others, and same goes for Wilt. Shaq's other main offensive move was his jump hook. Now, Wilt was blocking Kareem's skyhook so what do you think Wilt would have been doing if Shaq was shooting his jump hooks? A lot of those would get swatted. But Wilt had a fadeaway jumper which Shaq wouldn't be able to do anything about. Also, Shaq's stamina wasn't as good as Wilt's, so Wilt would be able to tire out Shaq by running up and down the court and forcing Shaq to chase him throughout the game.

Nonsense about Wilt not winning championships. It takes a team. Wilt never consistently had a great team around him. When he did, he won.

What kind of question is that? Is there any doubts?

“As the league calls fouls today, Shaquille O’Neal gets away with what I’d consider murder. I mean when you dip your shoulder on top of a guy and the foul is on the guy on the floor, you know you’re getting away with something. Shaq is allowed to get points you normally wouldn’t get”

Wilt on Shaq

If Wilt played in Shaq's era he would have had wildly BETTER numbers than Shaq. Wilt was stronger, faster, quicker, could jump at least 12 inches higher, much better condition so could easily play 40+ minutes per game, better ball handler, better passer, and better on defense. I think it's reasonable to assume Wilt would have had 25% higher numbers than Shaq based on being more athletic in every category. The two big reasons Wilt didn't have more championships: Celtics had 6 hall of famers on 1 team and Wilt had poor coaching. In two finals, he got within a few points of winning 2 additional championships.

quite honestly the dumbest question i have read in a long long while. Wilt was superior to Shaq in every way. Strong, faster, higher vertical, better defender, unstoppable force under the basket (also had a fade away shot), better passer, way better rebounder. Am i missing anything??? Wilt was quite possibly the greatest athlete of all time.

Wilt Played 80 games in a season and averaged over 48 minutes a game that season... Shaq is exhausted in the 3rd quarter and needs his minutes expertly managed.
