Wilt is one of the strongest humans to ever live, probably the greatest athlete ever. There is no one that comes very close, especialy Shaq

If they went by Wilt era officiating. Wilt all the way. If they went by Shaq era rules. Shaq,
until Wilt finally has enough, and we see what a pissed Wilt Chamberlain would be like.
Would be a scary sight indeed.

Shaq would have been fouled out of the game in wilt Chamberlain's time and the top teams in that era had hard players that would elbow you to the face, so anyone trying to show off would be on a hiding to nothing! (it just wasn't done )

If shaq was physical against Wilt chamberlain he would have sealed his own fate, a annoyed wilt was unstoppable according to his greatest opposition and counterpart Bill Russell, wilt would have used the same strength that allowed him to pick-up two players, weighing 230 to 260 Ibs, one in each hand, remind me how much shaq weighed 350 lbs and shifted him out of the way and if shaq argued the point, he would have payed on the court!

Finally in the modern era, Wilt Chamberlain would have been astounding, one on one he couldn't be stopped even the great celtics didn't try that against him, they just slowed him down by relying on his one weakness, he believed that basketball was about the game and not hurting anyone. The celtics placed a smaller player to slow him down by placing him in front of wilt when he didn't have the ball, that allowed the celtic team to create a layered defence by Bill Russell firstly and then two or three others to jump all over wilt, wilt never ran over this single player, that was his undoing, he wanted to play basketball and never hurt anyone, but in a few rare exceptions he did!

Wilt Chamberlain's reputation for retaliating physical with his strength against all opposition, happened rarely but in the one incident when a celtic player hammered his elbow into wilts mouth and breaking his teeth into his gums, he released his anger and knocked out a 7 foot Celtic player with a 8 inch punch, it didn't pay to anger wilt chamberlain!

Wilt wax too big, fast and strong for shaq plus he had incredible stamina

I have trouble with, "I think Shaq would actually win because of his strength and size" [6:30], since Wilt was almost certainly stronger and their size was very close to the same. Wilt could jump higher, so anything other than a dunk by Shaq could be blocked. In a full game, Wilt would easily win because of his added advantages of speed and endurance. I think both Phil Jackson and Jerry West would pick Wilt.

I disagree, Shaq would not win against Wilt whether it was in either of their eras.

Wilt could run a sub-5 40 yard dash.
Wilt could bench press 500+ lbs.
Wilt could play all 48 minutes.
Wilt had a more rounded game.
Wilt had a wicked off the glass fade away.
Wilt was a rebounding machine.

If you took Shaq in his prime and put him in Wilt’s era when all they had were primitive Converse Chuck Taylor footwear, Shaq would break an ankle.

If you took Wilt in his prime and put him in Shaq’s era where now they have high tech, scientifically designed and engineered footwear, Wilt would be even more dominant than he was back in the day.

Sorry, Shaq, you’re good but Wilt was great and would be so in any era.

Blocked shots weren't recorded when Wilt played, but someone counted 112 games in which Wilt averaged 8 blocks in 112 games, Wilt led the league in assists one season

Wilt Chamberlain was almost two different players. In the first part of his career, he was incredible point scorer—one year he actually AVERAGED over 50 points per game!! No one else have ever come close to that. But the teams he was on during that time really were not that good. Then when he went to the Lakers, Wilt became much more the assist/setup man in the offense, passing the ball to the likes of West, Goodrich, and Baylor who did most of the scoring. These teams did much better, including winning an NBA championship.

Both in their prime, if you put Shaq in Wilt's rules and Wilt wins hands down. Put Wilt in Shaq's rules and you have an interesting matchup, but with Wilt's greater speed, endurance, length, and skill I think Wilt takes the matchup by a good bit (Wilt at 300lbs, and Shaq at 325-340lbs). Shaq is one of my favorite players of all time, as well as one of the best personalities and a pretty decent person but Wilt was nigh unworldly.

I saw Shaq in his prime up close. He moved a LOT faster than I thought he could

Wilt ran a 4.4 40. Had a 48 inch vertical and could bench 550lbs😂😂he’s one of the best athletes ever. When the NBa made him stop scoring he lead the league in assists😂😂😂this shit would not even be close. Wilt would DOMINATE Shaq.

I think if Shaq pissed Wilt off Wilt wouldn't go easy on him. Like if Shaq tried to bully ball Wilt it would work the first time and maybe the second time but Wilt would start using his strength and out power Shaq since Wilt was stronger.

I've always considered Wilt as the GOAT even though I was nowhere near born during his reign.

Wilt was not much taller than the other players. That's a myth unless you believe that wearing shoes with 2 inch platforms makes you taller. look at modern "big" men like Dwight Howard and Ben Wallace if you want to see short.

I think it’s less a matter of which is stronger and more how they used their strength. Shaq was all about explosive energy with a general disregard for other people’s safety, which basically made him unstoppable when he was on a roll. Wilt tended toward a more reserved finesse style of play.

Shaq would likely dominate early on in any hypothetical game between these two, due to his play style and mentality. Even if Wilt was stronger than Shaq (which he probably was in many metrics) Shaq tended to throw his entire body weight behind his plays which I seriously doubt that Wilt could block without risking injury. But the cost of this explosive style of play is that it is very energy intensive. The longer the game the more things would go in Wilt’s favor, due to his his style of play and legendary stamina (he played every minute of every game one season).

More practically though, I imagine that the game would end early because Wilt would try to block Shaq’s dunks, probably even block a significant number of them, but eventually Shaq would accidentally just injure Wilt. Wilt could injure Shaq as well, but he was usually very conscientious of not hurting people.

Back when they were playing 80 games, Wilt played every minute of every game except 8minutes in which he was ejected

It all depends which eras rules they are playing in, if its 2000s rules prob shaq by a little, but if its 60s rules its wilt by a mile

Wilt bench press at least 500 lbs. to Shaq, s 450 lbs, At 59 years old, Wilt could still do 465lbs.

How can you compare an oversized man child with the greatest athlete of all times, Wilt.
