Wilt didn't think Shaq played to his full potential in 1997

Shaq needed someone to tell him the same thing Moses Malone said to Barkley.

Totally agree with Wilt. Kobe was on record for demanding more dedication/effort from him.

Wilt was a man of which no other human beings could ever be compared to. An impossible measure of expectations for any athlete in any sport to be considered relatable with. Wilt still to this day remains alone at the top in his own separate category. Amongst the greatest players of all time, there's Wilt and then everyone else.

Shaq wouldn't have lasted very long in Wilts era because they actually called offence fouls. Now flopping is necessary to get one called.

Wilt literally averaged over 48 mins for an entire season lmao😂 Shaq would get gassed in the first quarter in the 60s. And all those power moves wouldn’t work on chamberlain, Shaq would have to change his game completely back then.

If Shaq had learnt more post skills and developed his passing and endurance he could’ve prolonged his career. His Cavs and Celtics stints could’ve looked a lot different

Off speed alone wilt woulda killed shaq

I broadly agree but his post moves and skills were underrated

wilt is probably the best basketball player of all time, so he can say stuff like that imo

Kobe Bryant thought that Shaq could do much better too, and if the "Diesel" had taken his physical fitness and his FT's more seriously than he did, he would have had a longer prime and a better career FT% at the very least!! Rick Barry implored the big fella to shoot his FT's underhanded (granny style), and it would have undoubtedly improved his FT%, but the "Diesel" was too worried about how it would affect his image. If Shaq had stayed in better shape and worked on his footwork with the "Dream" he would have been a more well rounded basketball player, and there is no doubt that he would have retired with more championships and probably more MVP's as well as better stats and shooting %'s across the board.

with the rules shaq had, wilt would have been more physical like shaq too. they changed the rules in wilt's day to force him to be more finesse imo. otherwise his crazy stats would have been even higher

If Shaq could Shout Mid range and have multiple offensive finesse skills close the rim he would be the exact Carbon Copy Wilt.. Athletic, Skilled, Can pass, And a very strong defensive force

Phil Jackson asked Shaq what was Wilt's most impressive feat? Shaq said averaging 50 ppg for a season. Jackson said no, it was averaging 48+ minutes a game, and he challenged Shaq to play all the minutes in a game.

Shaq wanted to give it a try, but quickly found it was way too exhausting. Shaq played 48 minutes in a game about 6 times in his entire career (probably some in OT games).

Shaq should have been a better rebounder. His career average is 10.9

Wilts my goat but we can all do better. Both Wilt and Shaq could have worked harder on their free throws. Jordan and Kobe could have learned to trust their teammates sooner and passed more often. Lebron could have learned to be a better leader. AI could have practiced..."practice?"

Not saying he’s near chamberlain game cuss he ain’t but embied would deff give shaq sum problems trying to keep up with him for 4qrts

The reason why Shaq used to be gassed is because he spent the whole game tryna push mfs down

I watched Darryl Dawkins act exactly like Shaq and was perpetually in foul trouble trying to go through peoples chest. Until Shaq nobody was allowed to steamroll and uproot defenders. An amazing specimen but not particularly skilled. if you call the drop shoulder drop step as it has always been called Shaq is on the ordinary side
