I have an Rx8 R3 2010 and I have had 0 issues with the engine. Many parts were changed in the second gen for better performance and starting. Looks better and you get 2010 luxuries that make it a great daily. Best car I have ever owned. I wouldn't sell it for an rx7 either lmao.
Biggest tips are MAINTENANCE and freaking drive the car. Recommended to hit redline once per drive so have some fun😉

Best car I ever owned, but you have to love to get hands dirty. I just finished to rebuild my engine myself because no one in my city knew how to repair it

Rx8’s are so fun and the chassis is so forgiving. Mazda knows how to make a car that can steer beautifully and the manual transmission feels so damn good too. The rotary noise is very intoxicating I definitely miss mine.

It's not as bad as u guys make it seem like bruh, there is videos of the rx8 as dailys and yes it requires a good amount of maintenance, it's very misunderstood. But it's an amazing machine.

I’ve had 3 rx8’s in my lifetime and it was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned never had an issue either

i had one, one of my best days of driving for real. nothing else like it, i drove lots of different cars, be it a gtr, a subaru, evo 8, 200sx, 2020 supra, honda fd2 type r, hell even porsches. nothing fun than driving a slow car fast with a nimble spunky forgiving chassis. if initial d was made in the late 2000s, the rx8 would be a great contender for the main hero car. its lightweight, underpowered, great chassis and questionably breaks down a lot. if u ask me its got a lot in common with the hachiroku. on a side note i never did see takahashi brothers rx7 fd/fc break down, only takumi did lol

Let’s be clear.. The RX-8 is an affordable, epic-sounding, awesome-handling, time-bomb lol. I love them. Bought mine CHEAP as a “cranking not starting”…. Deflooded it and it runs like a champ. Sometimes they are just misunderstood and assumed to be in need of rebuilds. Flooding, starters, fuel pumps and engine fuses should be checked before assuming that lol

I’ve owned my current RX8 for coming up on a year now. This is my favourite car Ive ever owned hands down. I feel like it’s best to think of it as a suped up, mid engine, NC Miata. Only issue I had was the slave cylinder blew, but that’s was $50 and an hour and some change w a friend in my driveway to fix.

Absolutely loved my ‘04. Other than a tiny spec of rust, it was perfect. If money wasn’t an issue, I would’ve definitely kept it. (Not that it was a money pit as I took good care of her, but paying plates, insurances, fuel and maintenance on 3 vehicles was a little too much… daily + RX + bmw bike. 😅)

I hope we’ll get to see a hydrogen Wankel sports car one day. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I own a 2005 RX-8 hands down one of the best cars you can get in this market. Find one for 3K get a ls swap or rebuild the motor your at about 10K now. Get a wrap done your at 12.5k and you have a 500hp beast for only 12.5k if not more if you want some mods like temp gages and wheels and wings
