Tom Cruise is weird. He's one of the last true movie stars and one of the most passionate in the industry with jaw dropping stunts and a variety of roles. But there's something off about him. From interviews inspiring American Psycho, to behind the scenes stories of his overly positive attitude to even the iconic jumping on Oprah's couch moment. But when you take an even better look at him and his ties to Scientology, things get a bit more controversial.

We'll be looking at the good, weird and insane sides of Tom Cruise. The further we venture the weirder things get with his Scientology connections involving slaves, crazy interviews, his two divorces to Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes and much more...

I always describe him as "Would probably be from one of the nicer houses in Game of Thrones".

He’s an odd fellow, but he steams a good ham.

his charisma and charm alone completely made everyone forget about that's he's the number 2 in Scientology often referred to the reincarnation of L. Ron Hubbard (the founder) and he also abandoned his kids and left his wife because they were deemed SP's by the church, but because he's basically one of the last daredevil action stars we have that does all of his own stunts (which no production company would allow but since he owns his own production company he can do anything he wants) everyone just turns a blind eye or forgot about how weird this dude is

I wish he would play more villain & comedy roles.

He is utterly insane. Comes across as a true sociopath imho. Ans thats without even getting into his high profile membership of a dangerous and abusive cult.

Props to you for calling Scientology what it is, hope that their crazy legal team doesn’t come after you. Tom Cruise is absolutely a hollywood great, but he’s so deep into the insanity. I feel like he’s one of the last of hollywood’s insane geniuses, or at least the last high profile one

He's been an A-List actor for about 40 years now. Starting when he was a teenager. He found scientology that elevated him to an A-list scientologist for nearly 40 years now. If he's weird then it's because he's been in a bubble echo chamber for half a lifetime. It's actually something of a miracle that he comes across as a decent guy with a sense of humour but who's weird. I strongly doubt that he knows what normal behaviour is. He approximates it and that comes across as false, but his reality is so foreign to us that it seems deeply odd. Say what you want about him, but by all accounts he's a professional at work and his private life is his own. I've got nothing against Cruise.

The more I think about Bale modeling Bateman after Cruise, the more it makes sense.

Cruise is so manufactured. So unauthentic. He's the perfect kind of film star in the worst ways possible. Externally he is top notch. But you can sense how fake he is. The forced laughter. The outrageously large smile. The carefully rehearsed mannerisms.

It's like he studied to be a person without ever having a personality. "There's nothing behind the eyes" is true.

I’ve accepted that Tom Cruise is a Scientologist weirdo, but he makes good movies and I love his dedication to his craft

As much of a weirdo as he is outside his movies, I can't help but respect how his passion for filmmaking never left him all these years and how consistent he still is til this day. Not to mention, he still does his own stunts. I like to think it's just another case of separating the art from the artist.

his performance in magnolia is outstanding, for anybody who hasnt watched that movie yet

Tom is without a doubt the biggest movie star in the world. This man rules Hollywood since the 80s with a worldwide box office of $12.1 billion.

The Last Samurai is one of my all time favorites. I definitely separate the artist from the art when I watch that movie but I sure as hell want him exposed if he has done evil things.

He is weird. But he is a very good actor.

I can't help but have this feeling once he gets to a certain age, Hollywood are gonna see they can't make the kind of money of him like they used to. And will serve him up on a silver platter. Possibly even earlier if the next mission impossible movie also flops. There might even be another MeToo movement except this time only against Scientology. Feels insane to me how we have gotten all of these stories from ex members, the insane punishments, children who are born into it being isolated from their parents. And somehow been able to get away with more insane things than even the catholic church.

Plenty has been said about the motives behind Tom's loyalties to the cult. Some say he's actually very easy to manipulate and they lured him in when he was young and naive. But hey, wife number one got him into the cult, but no one forced wife number two and three to leave their respective religions and join the cult so they could marry Tom 😁. The guy is an enigma, he uses social media only to promote his movies, crazy stunts and barbenheimer 😂

If you have any interest in learning more about Scientology, Leah Remini and Mike Render's tv series, Scientology and the Aftermath, is fantastic at exposing what truly goes on behind the scenes.

I use to hate Tom Cruise after I saw that interview with Matt Lauer. But as time passed, when I saw him doing Tropic Thunder, Ben Stiller impersonating him to his face; not taking himself to seriously, and learning that he apologized to Brooke Shields in person, and what he’s like as a person (based on what the people who have met him and know him, say he’s like) I don’t hate him anymore. I like him. We live in a very divided state of the world right now, and it’s just silly to hate someone just for their political or religious beliefs. It just doesn’t matter.
