Thank you Justine & Michael 💚

Opening ourselves up and truly exposing who we are can be scary. We find it difficult to honestly express our insecurities and fears. We stuff our feelings deep down inside and wear a mask on our face that says to the world, 'I’m fine.' We live behind walls and avoid being vulnerable.

But to fully feel love and connection, we need to be vulnerable. Vulnerability connects us. It is a great gift we give to another person, when we let them see all of who we are. And this opens the door for them to share all of themselves with us too.

'Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness, will we discover the infinite power of our light.' – Brene Brown

Filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.
Featuring Danielsun Okeyo.

All of our films are made possible through the generous support of our patrons.

Who is Green Renaissance? We are Michael and Justine - passionate filmmakers, living off-grid and dedicating our time to making films that we hope will inspire and share positivity out into the world.

I never thought I'd find such a channel. Funding it really makes me feel connected in some small way to the amazingly honest people whose stories I'm gifted with. Thank you for this tale of self reunion. 🔥

As I age, I am not able to do all that I did. I am a landscape/gardener. I am making peace with this as I go. Slowly letting others help me do those tasks that I physically can not do any longer. Letting go and just understanding I need others has been a reward in and of itself. Excellent piece/peace.

"The way I am right now is the way it was meant to be, and I'm at peace with that."
What words of wisdom from Danielsun! How much happier would people be nowadays if they could live by that?
Plus, again, such beautiful cinematography ❤️

Really helpful to me. When I was widowed 5 years ago at 58, I didn't want to be that name on my family members or friends cell ID that evoked "Oh, what does SHE want now?" so my mantra became "I have to be self-sufficient now." It's been terribly isolating. I should re-imagine myself, I think. Thank you, Mr. Okeyo and Green Renaissance.

“We are not Atlas, we can’t carry all that stuff…” I have carried the suffering and pain of my parents as prisoners of WWII, the pain inflicted by my father on my mother and brother, and his own pain as a concentration camp survivor. It’s too much, just too much. We are not Atlas. What a profound and freeing statement. ❤️

This is a beautiful message. It was his story, but it is also ours in our varied lives. Mine is one of huge sorrow from the loss of my son. But, I found so much meaning, hope and inspiration from this man. Our lives are different worlds in the physical sense… but we ARE connected in our humanity. Thank you for the surprise gift this morning. It brought tears to my eyes, and hope to my soul. I will keep it forever, and open it again and again to remind me. I am going to share this message. The world needs it. I know this may sound silly, like it will change the world… but I know it can help change each person in their own struggle. And, this together with the human community, maybe we can start a change.

Our forms are intelligent. No education is required. Some forms dance with oceans some resonate with mountains and while others feel great in cities. My form feels rested and dissolves next to an ocean. I feel expansive and infinite. The heartbeat and the waves play a symphony called Life and Love.
Thanks for sharing. Lovely

The world tells us we should always be different than what we are. It has taken me a whole lifetime to just start believing what I am is good enough.
