Google Keep is a note-taking app and Microsoft To-Do is a task tracker. They can both keep you organized, but they do it in different ways.

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to compare MS ToDo with Google Tasks, rather than Keep? And compare Keep to MS OneNote? Comparing Keep and ToDo is like comparing Apples to Oranges - they're both fruit but you eat them for different reasons - same with the apps. Whereas GTasks and MS ToDo would be closer to comparing say red and green apples...both fruit eaten for the same reason but tasting slightly different....

hello. I appreciate the side-by-side comparisons, especially for both desktop and mobile. between Google Keep, Google Tasks, MS Lists and MS ToDo... in all the videos I have watched it is usually mentioned that something can be added to the calendar as a "reminder". I find these reminders to be useless. I only see them if I open the calendar. I need an app that once I assign the note a date & time, I'll get a pop-up on my phone either at the specified date/time or upon arrival or departure of a location. So far the only one I have been able to find is the Samsung app "Reminder" but it has a lot of text limitations. Do you know if Keep, Tasks or ToDo has the ability to do a pop-up reminder preferably with an audible alert?

I have been trying to get MS OneNote to do checkbox items to move out when checked off like Keep does. The OneNote phone app does lists with a checkoff but the PC app doesn't show that operation. Do you know anything about that. I use Keep but recently started looking at OneNote because of its' organization of things. But I like checkbox lists alot..
Any comments?

Categorizing by lists in MS To Do isn't the only option. You can categorize tasks by adding a # (#grocery, #spending) anywhere in the task - I add it in the notes section - and it creates a clickable link that reveals all the tasks with that hashtag. This is not new; it's been around since To Do was Wunderlist.

You could have just typed "grocery list" in the title field when you started. There is more than one way to start a task list.

OK, I watched all the videos and I'm confused. I have tons of notes and tasks in Microsoft To Do but I'm buying a chromebook and want everything in Google. What do you recommend? Keep? Tasks? Also, do you know how to view tasks in canvas mode?

Google Tasks should be compared to Microsoft To-Do, not Google Keep which is a tool for keeping your notes obviously!
