First playthrough I took him with me. But if synths don't age, is it really a good thing to take him out into the wasteland? Decades will pass and he will remain a child, honestly leaving him seems like a blessing in disguise.

Honestly I always felt it was better to leave him behind. That is even if you consider it your son, made from your son after all, he's a synth that will not age. He will be stuck a child forever. Seems pretty cruel to let him live.

It’s feels kinda fucked up watching your son die and then immediately replace him with a robotic clone. The main problem I have with the institute isn’t the fact that they create synths in itself but the fact that they often create them to replace people. Like I would be perfectly fine with it if they didn’t try and replace people, like there is literally an encounter in the game where a guy named art has a stand-off with his synth clone.
