That tension between Danse's and Valentine is so great. I feel like even after Danse's personal quest it makes sense, like Nick took so much shit from Danse that he feels some kind of smug sense of justice, and Danse is too prideful to admit to his faults.

I still really wish they took the time to change his dialogue when his...condition...was brought to light. Specially how when Maxson gives you the order and everyone has Danse's back (even after how he acted towards some of them). I mean if they weren't going to bother changing his beliefs/dialogue out of laziness why bother giving his character a story arc like that? Guess that's what headcanons are for...

The Danse/Nick exchange is what I love about Danse as a character. How he sometimes drops the Brotherhood brainwashing and makes his own calls on people, reluctantly respecting Nick (calls him Valentine instead of “abomination” or whatever) wanting you to save Billy the ghoul, etc. He comes off as one dimensional sometimes but then you get little peeks of more dimensions.

It feels like you're watching the two most dangerous men in the Commonwealth narrowly avoiding an armed conflict. Like two nuclear missiles passing each other in flight and almost colliding but not quite
