My tv just started with the sound not working; all my settings are fine and have been reset; the only way I could get the sound to come on was to unplug and plug it back in, but this keeps happening. Can you please tell me what could be the problem?

Could you help me out with my Nintendo switch sound? I am trying to play on an old Philips 241TE5L. It has two HDMI ports. All cables are tested and work fine, the picture (of the switch) is showing but I have no sound at all. I have desperately tried everything.

OH man I feel like the BIGGEST IDIOT right now. The sound on my Roku(attached to an older Phillips tv) suddenly went out last night. The tv itself had sound but none of the inputs(roku, dvd) connected to it had sound. I have been troubleshooting everything for hours and it has been beyond frustrating. But do you know the ONE THING I didnt try til now, unplugging the darn tv!! And VOILA I now have sound. Thank you!!
