When I was flying every week for work, I found the platinum card very useful, not so much about points or the concierge that is supposed to get you things, but rather the travel agent. When you fly a lot, things happen, especially cancellations, delays, last minute tickets

One time my flight was diverted due to weather, and it was very late and no way to get another flight out that night, so besides booking another flight, I still had to figure out accommodation. It was a particularly bad night for air travel and the entire airport was in chaos

In my case, as soon as the plane landed and I was able to use my cell phone, I call the platinum card travel agent, they always answered on the first ring for some reason, and by the time I exited the plane, I had my hotel room and next flight all lined up. While most of the other passenger were still trying to figure out by joining the mile long lines to rebook flight, and trying to find a spot on the floor in the airport to spend the night

I felt that all the other perk are just icing on the cake while the travel agent was extremely practical if you do a lot of travelling. and is worth the annual fee

You have to spend $8, 000 in six months to get those 175, 000 points. You don't get them just for signing up.

Yes the card is still worth it. But you are buggin about not using clear at the airport. I dont care about other peoples TSS Experience, i care about getting in/out of TSA in 30 seconds and thats exactly what clear provides

I just got a pre approved letter in the mail as a 23 year old just now getting my act together after being in a lot of debt. I’ve been waiting for just the right card and right now. My girlfriend is working in a different state and wants to travel beck here to visit and I want to travel there a few times to visit while she works there. I use nearly everything the benefits cover already and so getting that for *free* would be amazing and I am making enough to get the 8000$ spending for the sign up bonus

Stuck in pop up jail on this card, I would have gotten it but I got the Sapphire Preferred instead a few days ago. I got a bunch of car repairs and a vacation to book so couldn't wait PUJ out. Hopefully I'll get bailed out soon.

I just got an offer to upgrade from my green card with 125k bonus. I already have 175k point on my green card. Looking to travel with my family to Japan next year but don’t know how to transfer those points to travel partner when I’m ready

Hi Phillip... If I"m a travel agent and I book a discounted trip for my wife and I through our agency portal, but I pay with the AMEX platinum card, do we get 5x reward points still? TIA.
