How to Completely Disable Windows Update (Windows 7)

To disable Windows Update try the following:
- go to the Start Menu
- type "Run" and click on Run
- type SERVICES.MSC and click OK
- scroll down to Windows Update and double-click it
- at Startup Type select Disabled
- click The Stop button
- click OK

*under Windows 10 the Windows Update service will re-enabling itself even after is disabled and stopped!

In the Services, in Windows Update Properties (Local computer) 1:30, you also need to go in "Recovery" tab, and in "First failure" click "Take no action". "Reset fail count after" set to "0" days and click "OK"

Thanks had this problem for a while now with my old windows 7 laptop it would try to install a update that’s not even there cause windows 7 is no longer supported now I don’t have to try to install updates cause they are no updates I can just shut the laptop down and start it up fast and easy
