Here's how the pandemic caused more women to lose their jobs

By the end of January, Canada's economy had over 800,000 fewer jobs than it did before the pandemic, and according to an RBC analysis, nearly 100,000 Canadian women have completely left the workforce since the pandemic started. RBC vice-president Dawn Desjardin says the longer women are out of the workforce, the harder it will be for them to return when the economy begins to open back up. Tanya Hayles was an event planner for the past 15 years and she says she's unsure how the event planning business will change after the pandemic.

Once again the title is wrong. The 'pandemic' didn't do it, it is the response of society to a disease. Government protocols and enforcement is to blame. Remember this simple formula: E + R= O: Event + Response = Outcome. So, what is your response to these lock downs?

This is crazy! It's not just women out of work! And by the sounds of this woman, a racialized woman with kids somehow trumps a person with seniority in a business? I don't think so. We are all hurting.

It really is time to talk about rolling out Universal Basic Income so people can get retraining or education if that is what they want to do. Its time to give everyone a hand-up, and that is what UBI will do.
