Same. As a recovering porn addict. I feared that my over a decade addiction was proof that I was not saved and I kept scrolling for how to be sure that I was saved. It wasn't until I heard RC Sproul's test of a truly regenerative Christian, that I had assurance that I was indeed truly saved.

For a few months now, I've been fearing that I'm losing myself to sin, that I'm not fighting it like I used to, like I've been weak. I've felt the desire dimming, and with it I continue to fall. Pray that God would meet me where I am and help me to walk in his light before too late.

Lets remember that satan is the father of lies! There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ..keep repenting, even with the 'smaller' sins, like accidentally swearing or getting mad for no reason at someone.Thats my daily struggle.

I truly needed to hear this as someone who is still struggling with reading porn/masturbation/lust and have been trying to leave it behind. I have found myself questioning my salvation on numerous times. I also have been seeking help from some people at my church. It is reassuring and nice to know I'm not alone. I pray that whatever you struggle with big or small, know your not alone and God walks by your side just like the poem "footprints in the sand".

Thank you so much for this. I weep because of my persistent, high-handed, sin. Bring it all to Christ because He has been tempted in every way we are tempted and yet without sin!

We all struggle with sin, period. Whether Christian or not, it's there. As a Christian, one bad thought, one bad word about anything and you've sinned. So, yes, we all struggle. The apostle Paul struggled with it so why wouldn't we think we would also. If as a Christian you think you're without sin, you better think again. Jesus is the only one without sin and we can only hope and pray to be more like Him.

”I find then the principle that in me evil is present—in me who wants to do good. For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in my members, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a captive to the law of sin which is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.“
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7‬:‭21‬-‭25‬

So needed to see this! Thank you so very much. The past several months have felt like I took a huge step backwards in my walk with Jesus. This happened completely out of the blue after a far purer walk with Him that felt so much more effortless for numerous years. My big step back brought me to my knees with humility even humiliation. I can no longer judge other Christians in certain sins as I used to, thinking I could never fall in that area of life. I knew I had weakness, I just didn't know how much. I have been thinking about writing a vulnerable blog about this kind of imperfect journey with the Lord. Please pray that I am moved in the direction Jesus wants me to go in. Blessings!

"There are no great men of God. There are only tiny, weak, faithless men of a GREAT AND MERCIFUL GOD." (Paul Washer).

My biggest shock after my conversion was I still have fleshly desires that pulled against my new commitment to the Lord :(

I confess that I, (among with many other things), struggle with a quarrelsome nature, always seeking to correct others, or even to engage in argument because I believe it sharpens my own position.
To quote 1776: the musical, "Hell, yes! I'll debate anything!"
That usually results in plentiful ink split and time wasted, tempers flaring and not a lot of understanding. Even when the motivation is good, it usually results in a quarrel (sometimes I can't tell the difference when an argument has become quarrelsome or when it isn't)
God, be merciful to me, a sinner.

I struggle with envy, covetousness, and anxiety. I hate it. John Owen said always be killing sin or it will be killing you. I will never give up this fight. ❤

Listening to this today, Good Friday. Timely message. The work of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection is sufficient. Nothing to the Cross I bring; only to the Cross I cling. May God continue to use and bless the Wretched ministry.
