Thanks, I do incredible things in excel, but remembering how to set up data tables is the least intuitive thing there is in excel. Whenever I search for a refresher, I am usually confused. Your example perfectly fit's my needed use.

Thanks so much for that description. After class Ive watched 2 other videos trying to understand the input cell and just wasn't getting it. I thought the inputs were the first column in the table, I didn't understand that those values were being put into the cell we were choosing in the "column input cell." Very cool, thanks again!

Question, what if once, formatting the formula with the name and the total is a negative. How can you fix it to where it only displays the name instead of the negative sign with the name? example: home->number group->number but it displays -balance because the total is negative.

Hey! I am trying to make one variable data table but it shows the same value in all cells. I did add it in Column input cell (my table is vertical like yours) and my output cells are also linked but it is still not working. What should I do? My assignment is due tonight
