What an amazing drummer! His dad was a professional drummer + started teaching John at the tender age of 3.
Prince had only the best musicians for his band + John was "the drummer" on + off for 15 years. Leaving us at 43 is way too soon!
You are both missed + loved! 💐

I haven't known him for very long, but when I heard his music for the first time, his drumming instantly made me a fan of his. His track Mind of J remains one of my favorite jazz/funk songs forever. I can't believe he's not there with us anymore. Rest in Piece, John Blackwell.
