You want really obscure enemies? Take a look into the first 3 Paper Mario games, four M&L games (and tbf the shroobs came from there), and Super Mario 3D land and world. Duplighosts, wizzerds, longadiles, anuboos, snoozorbs, trashures, those fucking alarm clock things in the seaside dream world, prongoes, and rammerheads are all more-or-less one example out of a variety of misfits that, while odd as hell and rarely as threatening as even the biggest jokes in any Megaman game, are still leagues above the more recognizable Goombas and Koopas.
