👉 While getting Xiangli Yao is great and we are thankful to Kuro Games for this, there are other issues that also needs to be fixed that a free 5-star cannot fix for the long term. I will address some of them in this video.

👉 Xiangli Yao is coming but before he arrives, some exciting leaked info coming in about new quality-of-life changes in version 1.3. Let's discuss this new important information.

👉 Wuthering Waves — a story-rich open-world action RPG. Awakened on Solaris-3, a vast world of endless possibilities awaits. Meet companions, conquer enemies and behold unseen spectacles. Follow the sounds to reclaim your lost memories and surmount the Lament.

Stop using revenue charts as a sign of how people feel about a game.

I'm not going to glorify a company for being better predators that know how to better kill your wallet or conversely fault a company for being more respectful of their playerbase.

Wuwa just doesn't milk their playerbase to the same degree that Hoyo games do. They gave us a free limited 5* for free 2 months into the game's lifecycle and have made it infinitely easier for whales to accomplish their goals through lower max pity, higher gacha rates and allowing them to buy out 2 sequences per banner in addition to eliminating 5050s from their weapon banner.

Now, they're still predatory in the sense that they are a gacha game but stop freaking out whenever they're not in the top 5 of all gacha sales for mobile gaming. They are not playing by the same rules as hoyo and hoyo is a much bigger brand with a much larger playerbase.

It's not a perfect game but its faults are not so bad that it makes it unplayable. They're making plenty enough to sustain their business model.
👍

Just remember made 13 Million ( on mobile) probably 95% of people who plays WW are on PC..m so they made more than 13 million..

There's absolutely NO WAY in 100 years that Kuro will give any free 5* anytime soon... that would just be dumb of them definitely not happening

I think it's best you watch Solon Lee's interview so that you could understand the reasoning of this business model.

A big part of it is the community I think. It's toxic and militant, in short. People are willing to engage in communities that are welcoming and thriving with its own culture, not with communities that will attack other games at every possible turn.

I mean look at your comment section. You're making this video AND have been making videos for the benefit of the game, but any slight criticism about the game gets directly chastised by the players, even if they are valid. Or look at Xiangli Yao's top guide on youtube, and the top comment is just "Genshin could never" in all caps. It's just tiring to see this militant attitude the playerbase has.

In general, the casual playerbase, which is A LOT of people, avoid toxicity. They'll avoid the game when the playerbase blip on Genshin for content at every turn instead of focusing on itself.

FYI I don't even play Genshin. Quit the game multiple years ago.

I for one am really happy that Kuro Technology found their footing after ten years of game development. Them not meeting the same quota as Hoyoverse or being generous enough to give practically 3 free resonators since launch is not hurting their company as they have already made back all their money to date. Solon himself said that he's okay with whatever outcome Wuthering Waves has, and I too am happy for whatever will come because the creator-enduser relationship is such a healthy one compared to other gacha games.

its hard to measure the game's success on that mobile game revenue chart, specially games that is hard to play on mobile like wuwa. i for 1, play wuwa on pc, when i get home after work i play it on pc and also do transactions there like buying stuff in the game, you need the framerate, the button response the ping, to be as good as possible for things like doing combat which is the selling point of the game, unlike genshin, from which im a day 1 player, spent a lot and also have it on my pc and mobile, i could easily open my fone during breaktym, spend my resin, do dailies, buy stuff easily just by gaming on mobile. although i dont play that much genshin nowadays, so in short, wuwa is successful even if people doesn't plainly see it, and also i think, people prefer the feeling of being treated better.

I wished it can separate being linked with genshin but they're both competitors and hopefully players can benefit with more qol changes.

In terms of resources, it's a blessing to have 60 and being able to buy more in shop rather than farming more. But in regards to artifact/echo grinding, wuwa fails here. It's very disgusting to have more barriers - Echo rng for main stat after filtering pile, farm for echo exp then another rng for tuners. 3 resources requires here as compared to genshin with 2 and the strongbox option that grants a specific set.

Anyways the game's new and it's unfair to compare it to a 4 yr old game. I'll just keep an eye especially on the 1st 2 years and see. Maybe they'll have a better first year anniversary?

what they really lack pre are long term gameplay contents. Holograms should have reset, increase TOA floors, Overworld tidal heritage respawn and more coop raids.

They can make TOA reset every month but with 50 or 100 Floors at least everyday players will have a goal in case they are stuck in a certain floor. Devs should not be afraid to make the game hard.

they should just make a generous game with low cost subscription like.
1)waveplate cost reduce by 10/20 maybe 2.99
2)since its gatcha they can also implement some idle reward system and boost it with a subscription of 3.99
3)add a few add stuff so they can make add skip package around 5 (not forced adds that ruin the game)
4)since game is not about pvp they should a vip system
5)skins for the game that can be bought either by money or by griding like collect these items (items that are rare)
6)make it more of a game and less of recourse business
7)farmed echoes can be used as xp 1 cost equal normal xp, 4 cost = gold xp
8)increase astrite income so, each patch you can go both pitty weapon and pitty character
9)add some characters that can be unlocked only by some missions/hidden achievements or either so ultra high diff boss
10)implement a gumbling system that utilizes credits
11) add craftable 5 star weapons
12)increase echo cost
13)pp pass giving credits its bad make the rewards better
14)world boss that difficulty getting harder but rewards are based on the dmg done, attribute doesnt count so meta, whales its irrelevant

If kuro pumps out more challenging endgame content it’ll be more incentive for players to spend imo. You can pretty handily crush ToA f2p rn.

a good reason for that is everyone is saving for future banner and also i can say is Kuro don't have access to Mobile players. cus among all the people i know it's the Mobile player who spend the Moderate amount of Money. the so called hardcore players they don't spend money as they use free character. i think thats there are not much of a reason to Buy a Battle pass as the weapons kinda suck. in genshin almost every 4 star battle pass weapon is very very close to the 5 star when in comes to damage But thats not the case in Wuwa.

I would prefer if they could fix Calcharo, given the fact that I got him as my starter 5* and put lots of materials into him. Really wanted to like him, but he feels so clunky to play. But oh well...don't play this game much anymore anyways.

Only Kuro knows how well the game is doing. Gacha charts only tells part of the story. As with any business if $13m revenue gives them a green KPI, then they are doing good if red then they are not. But only Kuro has that info.

its a gacha game, if your finished on the quests and achievements, you will just do dailies and wait for the next update. who tf plays gachas like its those AAA games

I have to disagree about the sale number reflect how the players feels about the game. now that 2 newer character come out 1 of them is free and another is not a must pull players have time to build what they currently have and also save up for future banner, thats just how it is and there is nothing new coming out atm people just do their weekly daily stuff and log off, thats how the gacha genre works. also genshin giving out free standard characters selector is hilarious, since most of them now sitting there collecting dusk in the corner, but hey its still nice for newbies to have those. honestly i would hate if wuthering waves keep pumping out characters that are apealing and must pull for all the time, that would leave the rest of my characters halfarsed built. lack of event isnt even the problem here the event the been releasing are fine in fact i don't even have time to do them all lol. the pacing is very similar to genshin. but lack of fun event that we can agree on. as soon as new map or character coming out then people will come back again, same thing with genshin except genshin doesnt listen to players.
