A lot of people are asking in the comments, WHY IS IT FORBIDDEN? Here is my explanation:
Even though it's a long song by radio standards, once upon a time Stairway to Heaven was one of the most overplayed songs on the radio. Every guitar player, and I mean every guitar player, had to learn this song, especially beginners who had a little more experience than absolute beginners, because it was a relatively easy song to learn. The song was so burnt out that it became a joke if someone came into a guitar store and started playing it. Like, "Look at me, I can play Stairway to Heaven!" So the song was effectively banned from guitar stores. Not so true anymore. Over time the song has regained its classic status. But it is still considered a "forbidden" song among seasoned guitar players, especially if you're sitting and playing in a guitar store.
