I’m having this same problem twice now. Last year, i had to pay $100 to get it fixed at Nissan dealership. Now, I’m going to do this method and buy me $100 worth of stuff for my family. Thanks a lot.

Thank you for the awesome video! I have a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5 and this was exactly the problem costed me $0 thanks to you Sir! For anybody reading this comment with the same issue in their 2010 Nissan Altima, their is 2 brake switches on the brake pedal. Its the left one that gave me an issue.

You have no idea how much this helped me out and I mean you have no idea.
I’m as car stupid as they come but least I always maintain it.
I dis-connected that part and cleaned the copper contact and I’m good to go.
Thanks once again.
And now I’m not as stupid as I thought.
Mine was a 2018.

Wow thank you for this. I just replaced mine, because I kept having to clean it every week! Or the car wouldn’t start smh. It’s only $17 plus tax. Thanks again brother.

I replaced the brack switch at the Nissan dealership twice and it did work for one week till now the brack pedal gets real tight and it will have a weak start but won't start all the way on with a message saying Key ID Incorrect! So I replaced the key fob battery two times and now it starts. Even the remote starts now, when it wouldn't before. Hope that fixed the problem. Nissan Altima SL 2018 that I got truly sucks.

Is this only if the brake lights don’t turn on?

Does a 2012 Altima have a emergency key switch that actually uses the metal key

I’m an ex mechanic and told my sister ya. He cowroker who husband works for Altima said it was the battery. So I found this and can tell my sister not to spend the $159 on a new battery

Would this roughly be the same for a 2015 Nissan Sentra?

could this also cause traction issues? car starts sometimes, and sometimes it won’t, break petal hard when you push down. but also noticed the traction light comes on when driving.
