Sharks aren’t attracted to the smell of human blood, tampon or not.

I'm pregnant now, and am loving not having to deal with a period lol. I do have an obstetric question, I'm kind of overwhelmed with all the different positions you can give birth. Is it possible for you to maybe do an episode explaining some of the options and their pros/ cons?

These types of videos would honestly be perfect to show in sex ED. I swear when I was in school they told us that horrible cramping was normal. Like no, debilitating cramps aren't normal and years later I was diagnosed with PCOS.

I'm glad I found your channel! I learned way more from this channel than what I learned in health class. I appreciate you discussing these topics and debunking myths.

“The average period is 5-7 days” see this is important information that I missed as a kid and wish I had learned sooner. My natural period is 12-15 days, every 40 days, and I put up with this for years longer than I had to because when I started my mother and doctor just asked “Is it regular?” and since it was very consistent I said “yes” and there was no discussion in detail until 10 years later when I started birth control and was like “why are there so few placebo pills?” and my mom was horrified I hadn’t complained sooner. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I love my birth control. I love not bleeding and cramping for half the month.

English is not my first language, so I spent two good minutes wondering what kind of slang I didn't know about was ''a shark attack'', before realizing it was quite litteral XD

Sad fact: I didn’t tell my mom about my period until about 3 or 4 years after I got it. I was about 11. My reason for not saying anything was not knowing what was happening to me and just not saying anything because I was scared I was going to have to go to the doctor, and then I figured out what was happening. I figured out “ok it’s normal to bleed every month if you’re a female and it’s called a period”. I still didn’t fully understand my body but eventually figured it out later in life. She eventually asked me if I ever got my period and told me she was worried about me since she thought I hadn’t gotten my period when I was around 15 or 16. I still don’t understand why she didn’t sit down and talk to me about getting a period especially since I had 3 older sisters. Thank you Mama Doctor Jones for giving educational videos. I think it’s helping break the period stigma.

I usually need to understand "why" things are certain ways. I loved your explanation regarding bleeding in water. That was helpful for those of us who aren't able to take things as fact without the facts!

I’ve had irregular periods for almost a decade now- sometimes i bleed lightly for a couple days, sometimes I bleed for two weeks straight, sometimes I don’t even have a period for up to six months- and the cramps are absolutely horrific (sometimes they hurt so bad I can’t walk) which I assumed was abnormal, but my female pcp literally told me i was being dramatic and it was just because I was overweight- no tests, no other questions, just blew me off- which as a woman in her twenties is a little disconcerting. 👏We need more doctors like MDJ👏

I just saw a documentary for shark week. It said sharks don't actually "like" the taste of humans and its a myth that human blood attracts them

MDJ: With a tampon or cup, no shark worry
Me: 😑 I'm still calling it Shark Week. 😆

Watching this while lying around from cramping on the first day of my period. Timely

Swimming while the blood builds up, then exiting the pool, equalizing the pressure.

Fun times 🤦🏼‍♀️

When I had periods, they lasted up to 10 days...TEN DAYS! they started with spotting, got heavier but not terrible, the not terrible got terrible, clots and all, then went back to heavy spotting around the 9th day, stopping in the 10th..and this continued even after having had 7 pregnancies. SOO glad for the menopause!

I've worked around horses for 8 years and I didn't have any problems with stallions. They were behaving just like on any other day of my cicle.
