The soundtrack always had an air of creepy and angry and sad to it. Edgerunners just really capitalised on the sad aspect.

Had to rewatch Edgerunner again because I felt like I went too fast for me to feel attached to the cast, I literally started crying my eyes out on episode 10. Nothing got me this messed up since Nier automata and Angel Beats.
