eBay International Shipping Program Explained - Is It Worth Using?

eBay International Shipping is the newest international shipping option introduced by eBay that will be available to all sellers by the end of summer. It is much like eBay’s Global Shipping Program GSP without the returns. In this video I discuss the benefits and how to set ups your eBay account to use the new program.

This was excellent. I used to sell internationally several years ago and had a few bad experiences with returns so I stopped all international sales. I would love to expand my customer base but have been afraid to do so until eBay came up with this new program. Apparently Etsy has a similar system. A friend of mine who sells on that platform says it’s no more complicated than shipping to the next state in the US. Hope that is my experience. Thanks very much for taking time to make this video.

I sold a Dallas cowboys jacket to someone in the UK, i charged 65 plus 15 dollars shipping. Ebay charged them a extra 90 dollars. They paid it. Ebay made more than me on that sale

I've been enrolled for a while and it is GREAT! I had an item not received that was closed near instantaneously and have had zero issues so far. It was a relief for me and took all my international worries away.

I've had about 70 international sales in the last 2 months, ...and I've only had 1 return request, ....I accepted the return....and then Ebay automatically FULLY REFUNDED ME....and they let the buyer keep the item AND Fully Refunded the buyer as well. I'm not sure if Ebay does this every time, or if it's a calculated risk by Ebay, ...but they could tell that I was a consistent seller with 100% feedback. I sell a lot of shoes internationally....which I thought would be risky for returns, ...but so far, so good.

Be careful if the shipping address is Doral, FL. They are typically a freight forwarder but as far as ebay is concerned, it was delivered in FL. Get the buyer to somehow acknowledge that he is located in another country. Then, if they make a claim, review the case with an ebay rep and they'll see the message that the buyer is not located in the US.. That saved my bacon on a couple of occasions.

I opted out till I get to pick and choose which items are in the program like the gsp had. Right now it’s all or nothing. I didn’t mind gsp for smaller items but not really wanted to use it for the big heavy things I sell sometimes.

I finally opted back in to it the other day also. I was skeptical of it been hearing from other sellers that it's been an a good program.

Another related glitch I have noticed is when shipping, the weight and measurements have been reset to 1 ounce, 1x1x1 on some items.
When I listed them, they all had measurements and weight.

I had sold an item early last year to a buyer in Germany under the Global shipping program.
Fast forward to later last year.
He wanted to buy another item but was blocked by ebay.
I hadn't changed any settings.
After a call to ebay all I needed to do was to go into my excluded locations and either check or uncheck Germany. I forgot which one. Then I was able to make the sale.
The item shipped to Illinois so it was probably the new International shipping.
Other than the excluded location list, I was in, I think. ??
I never opted in.
Did ebay opt me in?
Currently I don't do International.

My only question is how they handle shipping when alot of sellers dont pack their items until after the sale. I list all mine either under dont know or just leave what ever is on there already. I sold a few things though this new program and wondered that. Not sure how they calculated the shipping if they didnt have weight or dimensions.

I actually opted out and changed all my listings today because the 2nd item I sent to Canada which I do normally the same item a little doll jacket went to the eBay distribution hub and then they send it back to me. No reason on the package no reason in the tracking. That there is no reasoning written on the package the package and it was unopened. I had 3 different customer service people give me 3 different reasons. I will wait probably 6 months for eBay to iron out all the glitches before re enrolling in it again. If anything goes wrong you have to fight tooth and nail not to lose money at this point.
