I was at Formosa in Bakersfield with my son, he was in the 6th grade then. We stood on the wooden stairs two steps up. You could see over the guys at the front fence barely. I said, now pay attention, get ready to hold your ears... just as I said that, they took off! Man what a memory that was! his shirt was shaking in the vibration, it was hilarious! now my son's 19 and I asked him.... do you remember then? He says Oh yeah I dad, I'll never forget that It's something you just need to pass on to your kids if your of that frame of mind.

Fractions of a second the entire atmosphere around you, INSIDE YOU is suddenly shaken, like the entire world just got snowglobe shaken for 3-4 seconds.

It is important that EVERYONE experience this. The sheer amount of unbridled explosive force, barely bolted into a steel frame, and strapped to a person who, after pressing the GO GO pedal, is suddenly a passenger in a missile with wheels!!

Back in the 70's, we were in the pits at Indy. A team started their T/Fueler up. We were standing about 10' behind it, it was just idling. All of a sudden they burped the throttle, Damn it was Loud & the nitro burned the hell outta our eyes! One of my friends said, let's get the hell outta here before they do it again! That's the last time we ever done that! LMAO
