Today we are back in Maryland fishing with my friend, Tommy. Winter has finally hit Maryland, making it super cold outside- but that won’t stop us from going after some fish! Can any of us hit our PB using our homemade dressed hooks?
If you want a more in-depth tutorial on how to tie your own dressed hooks/bucktails, make sure to tune in to our episode next week!

It's always a pleasure to fish with you guys. I lost count of how many fish we caught. I look forward to our next trip. I need to break out my fly tying equipment again. Those teaser flies were the ticket early in the day.

I am working in Turkey, the job site just close the beautiful mediteranian sea, where the mark polo embarked the traveling aroud the world many years ago. I do not know if you understand Chinese or not, so I tried to type English to rise my questions. First thanks to share so many good vedios about fishing. sometime when not busy, my friends and I hired local boat to fishing on the sea. But we never catching big fishing on the water surface like you showing in this vedio, we just ues the sank/wight to let the hooks deep down in to the water and use the meat of the shrimps to be the bait. we
drive around and around to wait, usually we can catching some small fish under the buttom of the water. And also local people do not use lure or fake bait to catch the big ones. we also built a big long bridge harbor, now we can fishing at night, we can see big fish swim on the surface of water just around the pile of the bridge, but I just caught once and we tried alot but failed. So we attribute the caught I made just out of luck. The jetty go further in to the see about 1800m, and deapth of water about 10-15m, we do not yet finish all the work, the port we will finish in next moths and deapth of the water would be 21m. Please give me some advices!

i've started using nail polish(mostly red)to cover my snells knots and whippings. Works great and hardens in minutes and a tiny bottle goes a long way.

Nice video Skipper. I have been tying bucktails on my diamond jigs for several years now using mostly just flash, but have been doing it all by hand without the aid of a fly tying vise and bobbin. I have been using a mini vise to hold the hook, but it is still a bit bulky for this application. You have convinced me to get the setup you used.

Awesome video! An easier and widely used alternative to epoxy is Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails. I use it for bucktails and trailer hooks. It's very thin as well, not as thick as epoxy.

The thicker sewing thread is good. But they do have other lines to tie it. He is saving us money.

You can add to the epoxy glue sprinkle some glitter so can give extra shine on the glue😊👍

To keep bucktail ends even after cutting from the tail a simple inexpensive hair stacking tool works well.
