I’m in the process of becoming an RBT. I have ADHD and my younger sister (4) has autism, and she had an amazing RBT who had a distaste for traumatic ABA tactics, and did things the way she thought to be the most helpful and supportive and non harming. My sister loves her and thrived. I strive to break the cycle of traumatic ABA therapy, and I hope I make a difference for children, and the ones I service WONY be subjected to harmful, outdated ABA practices .

@agentsofspeech can you please do a video on what "bad" methods of ABA to be on the lookout for? My son is in a program and I want to know if it's beneficial or not. Thanks.

Honestly! I see it as a way to teach students to be effective or not. Trained effectively, it can be a great opportunity for any type of student 😊

ABA should never be about trauma it is a positive therapy that solely is based on teaching in fun positive ways.. this coming from a behavior analyst and having amazing success with my clients.. im not saying there are terrible BCBA’s but ABA performed correctly changes life’s for the positive.
