The true is it depends, some companies will hire you even with HTML, CSS and just a little JS and some may not hire you even if you are master JS but don't know at least one framework basics React, Vue, Angular. Same apply for the question can you get a job with just PHP well, probably not because all the companies that use PHP as a language to build stuff use some type of framework WordPress, Drupal, Laravel, Symfony etc. Also it depend where you live example in UK London area JS + React + Node have more jobs but outside of London PHP with JS have more jobs then Node. The more you know the better :)

HTML and CSS aren’t hard. Learn them along with JS and you’ll be employable. Those are enough to get you a full stack web development job.

If you study 2 hours per day...
You can learn HTML and CSS in 1-2 months.
You can learn JavaScript in 8-12 months.

That doesn't mean you're a coding wizard...
It means you have the bare minimum knowledge and practice to make you employable.
You should NEVER stop learning... Even people who have been learning JavaScript for 10+ years are still finding new ways to solve problems in the language and making the language do things it wasn't even initially intended to do.

Think of this as a very very long journey... HTML and CSS are a very tiny part of that journey, it's silly not to learn them IMO... It's silly to even discuss whether they should be skipped over. XD

For the backend site to be a full stack web developer, can we just use Node Js or should we also consider learning C#?

So I started learning HTML and CSS, through Udemy. It was great, and now I’ve started a JS master class through them as well. I’ve also paid for a Python masterclass through Udemy. Eventually I’d like to end up in the web3 blockchain space. Am I on the right track? 37 yr old welder looking to change careers

What if you are a MAC developer? Can you use VS Code or JetBrains? I really don't want to buy a PC.

I honestly don't agree with you, I don't see the point of learning JS, and then wanting to learn C# for the backend - when you can use the same JS with Node Js

In fact alot of companies are moving to node Js, like netlify looking at the micro service architecture and moving to node Js for their direct APIs.

I don't think we should be biased on giving advice because we have a course on that particular stack, it's not helpful 🙂
