Milka

My Oma and Opa kept their butter this way. I always liked spreading the soft butter. 🧈

I picked up a couple butter bells @ thrift stores. One was the Original Butter Bell. God bless.

I just got one of these butter crocs for a birthday present. This was a great video to show me how to use it. And it’s beautiful. I’m going to check out your other videos. They look very interesting. Thank you again.

Have you used a butter bell before? What other tips do you have for keeping butter spreadable and fresh?

Thank you for the full explanation and oral comparative with normal fridge butter. I just might try your trick with the homemade butter!! I just bought mine from goodwill! It’s not the original but it’s a nice green colour

Have you tried the Butter Boat? It's 3 parts with an elongated bottom dish for the water, the inner dish for a stick of butter (you don't have to mash it into a bell), and a lid. The inner dish has exposed ceramic around base that may absorb some of the cool water. I like that I keep the water and butter totally separate. I have put crushed ice in bottom with water when I wanted to keep butter a little cooler. It's also good for other things like cream cheese or dips.

Do you leave your bell out all the time? I used to put my bell(the part holding the butter) in the refrigerator at night and set it on the table all day. First thing in the morning I put water in the crock and place the bell in and put on the table, at night I removed the bell put it right side up (sitting on its top) in the refrigerator and set the empty crock beside the sink. It became routine. Butter on the table before I started the coffee and Butter in the refrigerator the last thing when I checked the kitchen door before going to bed. I live in Florida now and my house stays at 80F in the summer and even with no heat in winter it is about 75F during the day so the butter stays too soft down here to use a butterbell. However 15minutes on the counter and butter is soft enough to spread. When you move south to Florida you have to rethink lots of things. Gardening is the toughest. Wonderful year round gardening down here but planting times are upside-down from gardening in cooler zones. We planted green beans last month (September) and planting some strawberries this week! 🤣

This is the first time learning of a butter bell, I am amazed. Will consider making a switch. I have simply used a small mason jar for butter. Keep it on the counter and haven't had any troubles.

Great video!
I have one but I got a black line through my butter which I assume was mould. I change the water frequently so it must have been too warm overall ie 70F.
I dont have a water line so I just keep enough so I know its touching close to the butter. Is this correct? Should the water contact the butter or should there be an air space?
