This comes as a surprise to me. Good thing I didn't get the One Step anymore and didn't sell my 45 rpm version. Lucky, because I trust your judgment 100%. So far, all purchases based on your videos, the sound ratings have been right.

That was my exact thought about the Pearl and Tapestry reissues on 1Step. Even if there is a sonic difference, I struggle to justify paying +$90 more for them. I like MoFi but I struggle to understand their decision to reissue these two titles in that capacity instead of reissuing new titles they did before, and promised +2 years ago like Somethin' Else.

It seems to be a split opinion for people. I gather that the Standard 45 is mastered with a bit more bass and warmth while the One Step is slightly brighter.
When much of the playing field is leveled, using the same source and in this case mastering engineer, its mostly about what fits better for ones own system and personal preferences. To me One Step is about bringing down the noisefloor, mastering is still very much king. Reminds me of your Lush Life One Step vs AP comparison.

Hi Micheal, a very informative video. I passed on this One Step because I find I don't love all of the album. I appreciate honesty in reviews - I always strive for that. It's hard sometimes when a favorite company has a misstep, but you have to call it as you see it, and it gives you integrity, rather than a fanboy cheerleader of every release. Great job!

I'm glad that more people are enjoying the vinyl record hobby. Gotta cash in while the fad is hot, but for collectors like me who pretty much have every audiophile edition over the years I really hope either the existing audiophile labels or even a new audiophile reissue label will expand into other genres/titles. I got $$$ to spend, but nothing to buy.

Mofi, AP, major labels, etc. if you're reading these comments you're gonna make money. Let's go with the Stones, Zeplin, Cure, Smiths, etc, thanks!
