The desire of my heart was always for a good husband/strong happy marriage. I met a man 6½ years ago and dated then courted for 2½ years. I prayed the entire time that he was the one that God sent me. We maintained a chaste, prayerful relationship. We married 2 and 1/2 years later. It was then that I discovered that he had some mental issues (neurodivergent) that I failed to pick up because we did not live together. The marriage went downhill and we are now separated. I pray each day that I can have my faith restored. I feel so discouraged since i prayed and had faith that God had sent him. Please pray for me to see what God wants for me and that my desires align with God's plans.

I have found it very easy to think killing desire, hope, is the best way to go. Lack and loss hurt too much. But, then I found two things: the prayer "Lord, help me survive what you do to me for my holiness." And, the verse "delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desire of your heart" ...in other words, he'll give you himself.
