"CEO Fears: The Rise of AI and the Threat of Joblessness"

The idea of artificial intelligence (AI) taking our jobs is no longer a distant possibility but a fast-approaching reality that has seeped into the minds of the most unlikely victims - the CEOs. This new concept of alarm originates from a recent survey data, revealing a large number of top executives are concerned that AI might outperform them in the near future.

With the advancement of AI, which brings benefits like efficiency and precision, executives are beginning to feel the heat. Many are discreetly utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT to execute their daily tasks, making them wonder if their roles could be entirely automated someday. This concern comes in the wake of a prominent think tank's prediction that AI could replace up to eight million jobs in the UK alone.

In a preemptive move, organizations are deploying their junior staff into AI bootcamps as reported by AND Digital, in a bid to equip them with AI-related skills rather than replacing them. Still, the experts have predicted a 50-50 chance that machines could replace everyone's job within the century.

In an unexpected twist, 43% of the polled bosses admitted to concerns over AI possibly taking over their positions, while 45% confessed they are secretly using AI tools to perform various tasks, and passing work off as their own, despite a one-third ban on chatbots in organizations.

One thing's for sure, AI is here to stay and the immediate need is to empower employees with AI-related skills, not allowing AI advancements to instill fright but fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability.

Stephen Paterson, chief for technology and people at tech firm AND Digital, urged: "Failure to establish a well-designed AI framework leaves them falling behind the competition and peers who master AI skills."

The effects of AI on the job market might still be widely debated, but it's undeniable that AI is shaking up our traditional working models. "It's better, and cheaper, than humans in every profession," AI researchers predict.
